I'm only so early on, but I'd have to say the hardest part for me so far is the visualization. There are just moments where I can't get something to look right and get so frustrated. I've found if I don't over think it though, Xander usually turns out fine. The personality part is easy, I am letting him form his own personality and it is working out perfectly with no issues. What has been the hardest part for you so far? How do you make it easier?

Probably visualization.

Looking back in my PR I apparently had rather bad visualization skills, but now they are around decent.

The best way to make it easier is practice. It would be nice if there was some amazing technique that gives you instantaneous visualization skills, but the best way still remains practice.

There are however some things I noted that made things a little easier:

-Observing real life examples.

If I pay attention to certain details of people I interact with during the day it will be easier to visualize them because I know how they are made. I got pretty good results with eyes this way.

-Practice

Self explanatory.

-Remember details

This worked when I was already a bit better. Visualize the face, or just the eyes or whatever. Now try to remember how detailed a real face actually is. Every hair, pore, the skin texture, the way the iris is build (fascinating), etc.

You won't be able to see everything at once suddenly (remember, no magic short cuts) but it's an improvement.

-Tear down the barrier

This one involves symbolism.

Visualize your tulpa. Now look at it carefully. Can you see it? There's a dark curtain between you! Rip it down so you can see them properly.

For us it was communication. Well, for me, to be honest.

After that visualization was quite easy. Even a little bit disappointing...

How to overcome? Well... Talk, talk, talk. All day long, on every occasion. And try to listen to her responses.

I like that symbolism one.

I find that interesting because communication is coming really easy to me. I just know not to expect a reply, and I get one. But I do agree, you should talk to your tulpa whenever you can. I try to talk to Xander at least once every period while I'm in school.

So far it's visualization. Personality was easy for me and I spent about 2 hours on it with Quill. I left a lot open for him to make his own decisions, but some things I had to have set in place (such as being LGBT+ friendly and Otherkin friendly) in order for us to get along properly. Yesterday I tried visualization, but it was rather hard because whenever I got to the shoulders, my mind started to skew it out of place. Today I'll be looking at real life body examples and try to commit them to memory in order to let Quill look as proper as possible.

I know there are no "magic shortcuts", but there's something that I've found to be incredibly useful for both giving your Tulpas attention and improving your visualization skills:

Play any video game that involves 3D space, be it an actually 3D puzzle game, or some kind of adventure game, and let your Tulpa watch.

Anything that involves 3D space requires a lot of visualization to keep track of everything, and if you focus on your Tulpa being there and watching what you're doing, you're giving them attention that feeds them and makes them better in the process. They also learn from what they see you doing, so it's a double whammy of awesome practice. You learn to focus on tons of objects in-game, as well as focusing on your Tulpas and whatnot. It's a bit tedious at first, but it gets to be a quite good source of attention. Heck, you could even browse the Tulpa forums and have them read along side you and watch as you are writing out a new post.

So, imposition is what your saying?

Well, visualization and vocality took very little time for me, but yeah. I'm stuck on imposition right now.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be. I'm not even close to that stage.

So far communication was the hardest and most frustrating part for me, doubting if what I was hearing was my thought or Kaje's, getting vague and/or contradictory answers... more generally taking a lot of time and effort.

Visualization was only somewhat hard in comparison.

Right now we're working on imposition and making slow progress, but it's just that - slow, and nowhere as frustrating as communication.

It's actually being pretty fun, and the first tactile hallucinations were simply amazing to experience.
