Uguubee May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 I see exactly what FAQ man is saying. If OP's tulpa turns out different, who says it wasn't one of the of numerous factors that differs among individuals involved in tulpaforcing that made it's different? How can we know if it is just age involved or not? What IS testable is variables that relate to tulpaforcing methods themselves. Well, we may be able to say something about age is a massive change is made, but correlation doesn't always imply causation, and children are the most exploited subjects in the topic of 'imaginary friends'.
Guest May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 Care to explain further' date=' guest?[/quote'] Care to explain further' date=' guest?[/quote'] Well, you'll run into a problem with the imposing process, since obviously seeing a hallucination of a certain place 24/7 is an awful idea. Also, there wouldn't be much need to take time with the personality step. In short, the only meaningful step would be visualization with smell, touch, etc. It would be sort of like a reality marble, in that it would be some inner world that you could 'bring forth'. Of course, you wouldn't be able to trap other people in it, it would be a place that literally only you could go to.
FAQ man May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 I'd be interesting if someone decided to work on one of those. Anyone up for it?
Guest May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 I'd be interesting if someone decided to work on one of those. Anyone up for it? (I'm the same guy). If I successfully create the tulpa I'm working on now, and I'm happy with the whole thing (I'm still skeptical about all of this), then I will gladly partake in the reality marble. I said before that "literally only you could go to" it, but on second thought it would be probable to say that your tulpa could also go there. Sort of like a wonderland, I guess, except with the obvious difference that you're actually seeing/feeling/etc. it.
FAQ man May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 I think it would be an undertaking that would take years and years to perfect though.
Guest May 10, 2012 May 10, 2012 It would definitely take much, much longer to visualize, since we're talking about an entire location. Even if it's just a room, it would take a pretty long time. If we're talking about making something along the lines of Unlimited Blade Works (except obviously not infinite, unless you visualize it looping at some point) then it would take years and years.

It'd just be a very detailed wonderland, or you mean, like an imposed wonderland? Sounds a interesting, but imposing a hallucination that big would be a good recipe for confusion.

So yes, like an imposed wonderland. The danger of it being the off-chance that you trap yourself in it (thinking about this, you should probably remember to visualize some sort of entrance/exit).
