Guest Anonymous_ August 2, 2013 August 2, 2013 Okay, so in March, I decided to try out Tulpamancing, and I thought it was going well. I got extremely paranoid of constant puppeting, so I'm starting over. ANYWAYS I began a couple hours ago, with just a wisp, a completely dark wonderland, the name Raina (Thank you Methos xD), and some sad anime music playing in the background. I created an endless green plains setting, with two stumps. I sat on one, and helped Raina embody herself. What she chose, was Inori from Guilty Crown, and I decided not to argue. She tried talking, but all that came out was a kind of high-pitched static, so I said I'd help her, and narrate and junk. After that, she fell, and I caught her. She passed out while she was still standing up, so I imaginificated a house, and a somewhat blank bedroom (That I wanted her to design herself). I laid her down, and she slept soundly (It was 1:30 in the morning D:), so I decided not to wake her. I went back to the real world shortly after, and here I am. One of the problems I have trouble with when forcing and narrating is that if one stray thought comes in, I go off on a tangent and forget about what I was doing entirely. If anyone has something that can help, please let me know. I also plan on doing a form of a tulpabracelet, when I find one I like :D And so ends my first text wall! More to come soon! (Hopefully!)
Guest Anonymous_ August 2, 2013 August 2, 2013 A quick update: Last night, before I went to bed, I decided to pop into wonderland, for some reason. In it, I saw Raina sitting on the stump outside, and looking at the stars. I asked if she was lonely, and she nodded, so I went inside and laid down next to her until she fell asleep. Nothing else happened (creeps) I plan to do more forcing in about an hour, when my family leaves. I'll post a longer update later.
Guest Anonymous_ August 2, 2013 August 2, 2013 Well, I said I'd force, and I did. I still can't hold one for very long, because my train of thought never actually stays at the station. It just keeps chugging along a seemingly endless track of thought. That's besides the point though Just a little while ago I forced with Raina. At first, I tried to help her talk some more by asking questions like "How are you?" or "What do you like doing?" but all I got was more of the static noise whenever she tried talking. I still refuse to parrot, because if I do, I fear I'll never be able to stop or tell her voice from my parrot. I also skipped personality, because I want her to be her, rather than what I want her to be. That's more of an opinion thing than anything else. After I tried helping her talk, I asked her if she wanted to do anything fun, and she had an excited expression. We decided on having a big battle with monsters and things. I summoned what was essentially an endless horde of short creatures with nothing more than daggers, and they began to charge us. Raina changed into a kind of black war dress(?) and summoned a Katana. I decided on a black coat and two medium sized swords. Before long, the swarm began to overpower us, and I suggested we run. We found a kind of ravine, with a bridge, which we ran over, and then I cut it. Unfortunately one of the monsters brought a large plank for some god-forsaken reason, and I fought on the "bridge" while Raina picked them off with volleys of arrows. After a bit, someone who stood out from the horde crossed the bridge. I think it was a human, maybe, and it had two swords and we had an epic fight, resulting in me getting impaled and then decapitating it (Dark stuff, right?). After that, Raina picked up her katana and charged the bridge, taking as many out as she could, but was soon overpowered. I was just hovering there as a wisp, and I flew to her, and had a kind of spiritual explosion resulting in all the monsters kinda dying. I healed her and respawned just in time to see a giant troll kinda thing approaching it. We fought it off, and then went to look for somewhere nicer to live. We decided on a Log Cabin in the forest near a lake. I gave us each a room, and then she went inside to decorate, and the force just kinda dissipated from there. Wow that was a wall. Anywho, not exactly much progress to report, but while I was trying to talk to Raina, I heard unrelated snippets of words floating around in the static. None of them actually had anything to do with what would have been a response. Strange stuff. I'll probably do some more active forcing tonight, and I'll do some passive if I can stay on one topic for long enough. I'll report anything substantial when it comes up :p Until next time!
Guest Anonymous_ August 2, 2013 August 2, 2013 Success! I finally heard Raina speak! Unfortunately she doesn't speak often, and she isn't very talkative in the first place so this could take a while. Thanks to some tips on the IRC and looking through a couple guides which I can't remember off the top of my head, I could hear her speak! I just went into Wonderland with the White Noise playing in the background, and we played verbal pong, of sorts. I said a word, and tossed her a ball. She caught it, said a related word, and sent the ball back. We did this until I could hear her mindvoice as well as a song I remember. My goal is auditory imposition, however long that may take. I don't expect it to come easy, and some other stuff will happen along the way I'm sure, but I will reach it eventually. For now, I'm going to go in the IRC so Raina can chat with everyone. (I am posting wicked frequently. Wowza.)
Guest Anonymous_ August 3, 2013 August 3, 2013 We've been working on possession somewhat recently, and unfortunately I can't do any active forcing because my Dad's girlfriends noisy-ass kids are up and they do not leave anyone alone. Progress on the possession though: Raina can willingly move my index finger, and last night as I was falling asleep, I felt my leg jolt out on it's own a couple of times. I'm pretty sure that's her, but does anyone else have any input? Maybe it was just a twitch and I'm overreacting, but I hope not :P That's all for now, and I'll force any chance I get this weekend.
Shui August 3, 2013 August 3, 2013 On not going off on mental tangents, try Anapana meditation. It's about training your mind to stay focused on one thing at a time. Start by just sitting down in a comfortable position, with your back straight up and down. Use a chair if you have to. Close your eyes, and mentally count your breaths. Mentally say "one" when you inhale and "one" when you exhale. Then say "two" when you inhale and "two" when you exhale. Continue on up to ten, then start over at one, and keep going. Your mind will wander -- many times. Don't get angry or frustrated about it. Just tell it that there will be time to think about that stuff later, and gently bring it back to your breath and your counting. The more you do this, the easier it will get to stay focused for a long time. As you meditate, your mind will do everything it can to distract you. If you keep at it long enough, you will see and hear things that aren't there. This happened to me when I first started meditating -- I would see a scene so vividly that I thought I was really looking at it, and I had to open my eyes just to verify that they had been closed. Remember, this is just another distraction -- let it go like any other thought, and return to your meditation. Set a timer and do this for at least ten minutes a day. I like to set the timer to chime several times, with the shortest periods first and last. So with ten minutes, I'd start with one minute, then chime, then two minutes, then chime, then four minutes, then chime, then two, then chime, then one, then chime twice to show that it's over. I like the meditation period set up like this, because it makes it easier to set goals for yourself. Try to focus on the counting and on your breath all the way through the first minute. If you can do that, try to make it all the way through the next two minutes. If you can do that, go for four minutes. And if you can't do this, it gets easier again at the end so you have a better chance. I set the chimes with Tasker on my Android phone, but if you can't find a way to do it on your phone, you can make an MP3 for it. Again, ten minutes at the minimum, but the more you do, the better. I'm doing two hours a day right now, one hour in the morning, and one hour in the evening. Keep doing this until you no longer get distracted by other thoughts, and you're entirely focused on your breath and your counting -- then stop the counting, and just focus on the feeling of your breath in your nostrils. Have no words at all in your head. This is harder, and it focuses your mind even more. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
Guest Anonymous_ August 3, 2013 August 3, 2013 I'll give that a shot starting on Monday! Thanks :D I'd start later tonight, or even now, but there's some very very very annoying kids that will not shut up. EVER. Not even when they're supposed to sleep, so I can't do anything really now. I definitely will try that though, thanks for the input :)
Shui August 4, 2013 August 4, 2013 Yeah, finding peace and quiet can be a problem. It helps, but you can improve your focus in other ways if you just can't meditate. :) "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
Guest Anonymous_ August 4, 2013 August 4, 2013 So, earlier today I found some time to force, and Raina decided she wanted to be more "outgoing" and less of a shy quiet girl. I decided to help, and the first thing we did was random word pong. Toss a ball back and forth and scream the silliest word you can think of. We kinda stopped that when we were just screaming groups of sounds not related to any word. After that, I showed her Dance Dance Revolution, because that's fun and crazy and we had a great time and it was fun and and and.... Besides that, tomorrow I'm going back to my Mom's, where I can find peace and quiet whenever I want, so I'll force more, and also do some meditating (thanks again Shui :) ) That's all for now, folks!
Guest Anonymous_ August 5, 2013 August 5, 2013 So, I managed to find some time to force last night after I was rudely woken up in the middle of the night. I went downstairs, and slept on the couch, but I did some meditating, and after I forced for about 30 minutes. I taught Raina how to cook basic things, and she likes Ramen and Mint Ice cream, but hates eggs. After that, we did some exploring around our island, and then we went back. Explaining it seems boring, but it was really fun! Aside from that, Raina's been more outgoing like she wanted to, and that's cool. At my first day at work, it's really slow for the first couple hours, so I decided I can use that time to either passive force or work on imposition. So, that's all I've got to say for today, and I'll update soon!
