G|d30n June 26, 2012 June 26, 2012 There's no way. I didn't start getting responses until I was about 35 hours in. And yet right around 8 hours is really commonly reported be a lot of users for their first hint of a response. That's not to say others are lagging behind. Some people can have vocal tulpa in 40, some can force over 100 hours and aren't even sure if they're getting responses. For me, it took a little over 90 hours, counting both forcing and narration. The times of others aren't relevant to your own process though. You can't get caught up in the expectation that you have to spend a certain, pre-determined amount of time on each step and on the whole process or else you're doing it wrong. That will really hurt you if your tulpa is ready to speak at 40 and every time it tries your mind shouts "No! Sixty more hours!" On the other side of the coin, you also don't want to look at the people who are getting emotional responses, vocalization, and sentience after a really short amount of time (which is very possible, considering this whole thing just depends on your subconscious, your imagination, and how your mind works) and think that you must not be making any progress. Things will happen when they happen, and you don't want to convince yourself that there's a right or wrong time frame, because it can happen at any time and you have to be ready to accept it. Otherwise, while you're ignoring vocalizations from 40 hours on because someone told you it has to take 120 hours, your tulpa might get tired of being hushed for weeks and decide it doesn't want to try and talk anymore. Progess on my tulpa, Lauren. Lauren's survey and stylometric test.
SonnySky June 26, 2012 June 26, 2012 Mine can speak, I think, but it's only when my mind decides to puppet her .-.
bila bila June 26, 2012 Author June 26, 2012 Yea, well I got emotional responses around 25 and she started speaking at 40. While I'm at it I might as well tell you about myself. I'm 14 and currently in school (I did most of my tulpaforcing during school term). I am one of those kids that are above average in nerdiness but don't really hang around with that group. I try to stay fit but I'm not on any sport team and I am also very musical. This topic would be better fit in the Question and Answers section if anyone wants to move it. Although for me I'm only 10 hours in and I'm pretty sure I've been getting an emotional response since 7 hours in, but she isn't vocal yet. I wanted to see if what people do affect the speed of sentience. It's not just a simple question out of curiosity.
Enantiodromia June 30, 2012 June 30, 2012 Nine hours in, I got what seemed to be my first word, but it was kind of scary since it didn't sound human or what my tulpa should have sounded like... that was the only time he ever said anything, just that one word. It probably occurred so quickly because I have a tendency to obsess. Tulpas: Justine, Guess, Clarence
