Guest Chaos April 6, 2014 April 6, 2014 I've been on this site for a while, but I haven't posted anything, I've just been researching. So I finally decided to make a tulpa. I'm just using this thread to track my progress I guess, I'm not so good at keeping dates and remembering when I did certain things. I was camping all weekend meaning I had lots of free time. I started on Friday. My tulpa's name is Esther right now, but she may decide to change it later. She hasn't spoken yet, but I've started to get signs of sentience. I believe she is sending certain feelings and smells because when I talk about different things I get different reactions; some differ from how I feel about the topic. I'm not following any specific guide, I'm just combining the aspects that work for me. I didn't work much on personality, just got a general layout of the main traits. After that I have just been narrating throughout the day. Most of it has been passive, except when I was in the car and was only narrating, not doing anything else. I don't know my hour count, I've just been narrating whenever I get a chance for a few days. Is it strange to see signs of sentience this early in the process or is that normal? I'll try to continue to update regularly.
stretchyundies April 8, 2014 April 8, 2014 I've been researching tulpae all day today and heard that keeping a hour count is not exactly a good idea, due to the fact that not everyone's tupla goes through progress the same way. "So in reality, simply counting the amount of hours you’ve forced your tulpa, for the sake of knowing how long it took you altogether is not a bad thing. The only bad thing about hour counts is the expectations based on the amount of hours you’ve forced. As long as you don’t associate progress with the amount of hours you’ve forced in any way, then you are fine. However, note that with some people, subconscious expectations happen without your “consent”, and these subconscious expectations can hinder the process in the same way as it would if you were thinking it. So if you have a slight suspicion that you are subconsciously having expectations based on your hour count, I recommend that you stop counting hours, right away." Quoting from Kiahdaj's guide. But if you want to keep an hour count that's fine, just be sure that you're careful. And about your sentient tulpa, it is possible. Just remember even though they are sentient earlier doesn't mean you should slack in the developing process. Keep the fourm updating on Esther, I'd like to hear more about her! :) Killing birds for fun
Raxter April 11, 2014 April 11, 2014 She hasn't spoken yet, but I've started to get signs of sentience. I believe she is sending certain feelings and smells because when I talk about different things I get different reactions; some differ from how I feel about the topic. My suggestion is to not try to do too much too quickly. Spreading your attention out across multiple fronts may make the development process longer than focusing on one thing at a time. I would only hour count if you feel that it's important for you to do so. As long as you don't correlate the number of hours you clock with how far along you think you should be. Sometimes slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. The most terrifying thing about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent. In the vast darkness we must supply our own light.
