I've looked through the forums and haven't really found anything up-to-date that answered this question.

How can tulpae physically benefit their users? Note that I do not say this because I want to use my tulpa as a tool with which to meet my needs. I'm simply curious what some of the real world benefits of having a tulpa are.

1. Total memory recall. If you experienced it, they can recall it. For example, I'll assume you've watched Revenge of the Sith. Depending on how much attention you payed it when you were watching it, your tulpa could recall every line of the entire movie.

2. Different viewpoints. Should be obvious if you've ever met another person besides yourself.

3. Academic success. Since they have the same level of intelligence as you, they can help you on tests or whatever. For a math test, they can figure out one problem while you figure out the other.

4. Possession. With practice, a tulpa can control you if you allow them to. This is probably most useful in winning video game competitions or playing instruments.

And a myriad of other things.

Don't create a tulpa because you want whatever real-world benefits. Remember, it's a sentient, thinking being. How would you like knowing that your entire existence was brought about to help someone remember stuff? They can also refuse to help you at any time. So, instead of a tool, expect a very close friend who can (and most likely will, most of the time) help you out when you need it.

Anyhow, they can remember stuff pretty well, remind you of things, do calculations and some other tasks fairly quickly and in the back of your mind, while you think about other things. They can recall things that you had long forgotten; I've heard of one reciting an arbitrary paragraph from a page in a book that had been read once. With work, they can control (parts of) your body in order to do things directly themselves. I've heard of one person's imposed tulpa pointing to things on a TV screen by making arrows appear, which makes me think of the possibility of more useful "overlays". Something like the lines and arrows showing you your route in Google Maps StreetView comes to mind. Sorta like a person in the car with you giving you directions, but in a clearer and more visual way.

Thanks for the answers guys. This is a bit more clear to me now.

Purlox: How in the world did I miss that thread? Thank you for the link.

Albatross: This highlights a lot of stuff that the thread Purlox linked to, while informative, didn't really touch upon. Thanks for the helpful information.

Chupi: You have a good heart. Don't worry - I'm asking this question for research purposes only. As I stated in the original post, I wouldn't dream of using a tulpa as a tool. When I make one, I couldn't care less if it performed any of these applications or not. I'll love my tulpa just the way they are. But I feel that this is important to state anyway. Having a tulpa used only for physical purposes is like a parent using a child solely for beer runs.
