  4. That works but I feel bad for the planets they will ruin./hj
  5. Elon Musk, whose impact on the planet and humanity has been profoundly negative, has repeatedly said we need to get off Earth and colonize other planets so we can ensure our survival as a species. I propose we send him and all the billionaires to Mars so they can set up their utopia as pioneers of the future. The rest of us will survive just fine.
  6. I guess I can't really back up my point but I feel like people would still say that during times of war.
  7. not really. we didn't develop the means to destroy ourselves until the 20th century
  8. It was cool to see everyone everyone making poems. 😊 People probably said something similar about the 20th century and such.
  9. I think it should be like AM from I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM but he's trained with 4chan and ragebait twitter accounts
  10. It's optimistic to say we will reach the 24th century
  11. i finally got to finish "measure of a man". i definitely think it's the best episode so far. picard's speech is better than any star trek speech thus far, next generation or original series. but jean luc was right that the philosophy was a bit basic. i think part of the problem was just the runtime; there is just too much ground to cover without missing something important in a single episode. it should have been a two parter imo i also think that, in recent times, it has become thought provoking in a way that the writers couldn't have anticipated: everything that picard brought up to demonstrate data's personhood, chatgpt would also have been capable of. how to distinguish between a true self-aware, conscious intelligence, and merely the semblance of one, is a question that has never been more important, or more difficult. my imagine is almost certainly insufficient to speculate on what sort of ethical nightmares we will have created by the time we reach the 24th century where star trek takes place
  12. Yesterday
