Alice October 17, 2013 October 17, 2013 I'll give a quick and brief idea of my past with Tulpae, before getting to the main topic of this thread. So I was never into Tulpae, I didn't want one, I never had an interest in one. However, I was into Hypnosis, I often used sleep hypnosis, relaxation hypnosis and personality building hypnosis to mainly help with my studies. I had always heard about those doing hypnosis were prone to accidental Tulpae. A few months ago, I got my first accidental 'tulpa', she was called Freya, it was surprisingly nice, I didn't mind. She was surprisingly demanding and therefore prevented me from procrastinating a lot, therefore she increased my productivity. However, Freya was in fact, a fictional character created in a story whom I really liked, one day she just randomly started to talk to me in my head and she stuck. Unfortunately, she wasn't exactly a main character, and due to the fact that she was an accidental tulpa I didn't put too much effort into building her. Therefore she had faded since then and I rarely talk to her- but she is still here, with a very signature accent. Secondly, another random accidental tulpa, once again during a time where I did a lot of hypnosis. This time it was Scarlett, an original character, the difference here is that we never really spoke. It was bizarre and I don't really want to go into it much, but basically she is no longer with us. Recently, I've been doing a little more hypnosis lately, and suddenly I got yet another accidental 'tulpa'- weird, I know. Third accidental tulpa, I'm probably insane. But this is when the topic gets a little more detailed. Alice, my third tulpa (Once again she is another tulpa based on a fictional character in a story)- I have a genuine interest in keeping her, she means a lot more to me than Scarlett or Freya ever did. But... I'm worried, I don't think she is a real tulpa. I think she is just a fabrication of my mind. She would appear to have her own will, independance, opinions and ideology, but I think it's a placebo brought upon by my mind. Think of it as... a tulpa of a tulpa, maybe? I'm not confident that she is a real tulpa, and neither is she, neither was Freya when she was more prominent months ago. After reading through these forums for a little while, I realize I'm not getting the complete picture of what it means to have a tulpa and it's not the same as what I have. Only recently has Alice actually gained her own voice, and unfortunately that voice is based on someone else's, which I don't really like. I want some help in order to turn Alice into a real tulpa, I want her to have her own consciousness within my consciousness, not just this imaginary tulpa. I imagine there will be people who say that it is impossible to have an imaginary tulpa, maybe I just have a very weak tulpa, but I believe there is a lot more to it than that. I can answer any questions if necessary too.
Brizzl October 18, 2013 October 18, 2013 I would imagine that if you took all of the steps to building a tulpa from scratch and just reinstated them it work. Building a wonderland, visualizing her in your peripheral, forcing, etc. (Not specifically in that order.)
Quilten October 18, 2013 October 18, 2013 Speaking of Alice, you're not insane...we're all crazy here... Puns aside, though, you shouldn't be worrying. All a tulpa actually IS is a placebo. You trick your mind into to thinking something is real, and with enough conditioning, your subconscious believes it. If you want to keep Alice, just treat her as if she was a purposeful tulpa, and go about being with her with a focus on doing what you think you should do based on what you know/find out about tulpae. Again, no pun intended, but I think Alice would greatly benefit from a wonderland. Even though my username is that of my tulpa, Quilten, my name is Phaneron, the host, who does all of the actual posting. Tulpas: Quilten, Jira
Dog October 18, 2013 October 18, 2013 Just follow the proper steps, and it should work out fine. I would recommended reading this of you get a lot of random tulpas: http://ponystasha.tumblr.com/post/59389514997/schizophrenia-via-tulpamancy-is-a-real-risk-take-steps

It's not becoming a problem, Alice is niiice~ Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll definitely try my hardest! ^^
Nobillis October 18, 2013 October 18, 2013 This just sounds like something that happens to quite a few writers : The Illusion of Independent Agency : Do Adult Fiction Writers Experience Their Characters as Having Minds of Their Own?. All tulpas are imaginary (including me). But, the imagination is a powerful tool of creation - even unto thoughts that can think themselves. What you are asking for is a tulpa that can act on their own - around here that's called an independent tulpa and to get there takes a lot of work (by you). Please consider supporting Tulpa.info.
Shui October 18, 2013 October 18, 2013 Thank you for that link, Nobillis. That has happened to me before, and I'm interested to read a scientific paper on the subject. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
