I have recently started trying to create a tulpa, 7 hours in, and I just thought of this earlier today. I used to take a lot of xanax, and I mean a lot. There are whole months where I barely remember anything at all. I always wonder what I did during these 'blackouts' as I call them, I assume I acted how I normally would but I can't be sure.

I was talking to a friend earlier and he told me I had sex with this girl and actually went out with her for about a week, but I have no memory of any of it and I don't even know the girl he is talking about. I have been told I have done this a few times actually, but by friends that I assumed were just messing with me. The friend that just told me this is one of the few that I actually trust, so I am inclined to believe him.

If I make a tulpa and give her access to my subconscious, will she be able to tell me what I did during these 'blackouts'?

Some people will probably say she will, but I wouldn't depend on it. She may not access them or may be plain wrong, it's not a self-hypnosis after all.

If she won't be able to tell me anything I can live with that. There isn't anything I need to know about what I did during these 'blackouts' so it won't be that big of a deal. Knowing how I act high, it might be better if I don't know what I did actually.

Yes. I have a condition where I've blocked a lot of past events, but my tulpa tends to bring them up while I'm deep in meditation.

Interesting Duke, that gives me a little hope that she will be able to tell me what went down during my 'blackouts'.

Tulpae can access repressed memories (it seems), but you have to give them access to your subconscious.

They can, but it depends on how you lost your memory. A Tulpa will be able to access repressed memories, but it might not be able to recall them when you lost them because you were drunk.

What Bluesleeve said.

The straight answer is that we can't tell you for sure, because (to my knowledge) nobody has tried to recover memories made inaccessible by drugs. My guess is that there's two scenarios that could occur:

1. The drugs prevented those memories from being made, and you have no record of the events that happened anywhere in your mind. In this case, a tulpa would (obviously) not be able to retrieve any memories from those blacked-out times.

2. The memories are there, but you can't access them consciously. In this case, a tulpa would most likely be able to access these memories, provided you give them access to your subconscious mind, as glitch said.

Either way, make sure you report the results to us in the future.

Albatross has the right idea here. I've taken a psychology course where memory recall was covered, and those are essentially the two ways that memory loss occurs. It is entirely possible that drugs could have prevented your brain from storing certain memories altogether. If they aren't logged away somewhere, there's no way a tulpa could retrieve them, but here's hoping it's the other case.

It's been a while, but from what I remember about xanax and the way it affects your memory, there is a possibility that I have them. If I remember correctly xanax prevents you from recalling them, but I beleive that they are still there. But it makes me wonder, if my tulpa will be able to access my memories of when I was on xanax, will she be able to understand what is going on? When you are on a high dose of xanax you barely know what is happening around you yourself. You forget every other minute what you were doing or what was happening around you. My tulpa, if she will be able access the memories, might get confused by whats going on and not be able to accurately tell me.

And I just thought of this. When I complete my tulpa, and I decide to take a bunch of xanax. Will my tulpa be able to tell me what happened then because she will be able to watch and see it for herself? Or will she also be affected by the drug?

I guess I'm just going to have to complete my tulpa and figure it out myself. I'm a pretty avid drug user so I will experiment with many different things and post my results here. I'll do it for science!
