deadpool issue number 0

Middle school, 2013/14 ish: me and my then-best friend create a shared wonderland between us, filled with every character we've ever encountered or created. of course, we didn't know what tulpas were, but we spent hours with those characters, rping their interactions with each other and also interacting with them personally in "the mind zone". I'm sure several of them were definitely tulpas. however, they all faded several years ago. I'm not willing to revive them, especially since I'm still trying to get a handle on my current situation, but I'll write their names here, just so they aren't forgotten:

Skye, Erin, Ray, Eridan, Rosa, Cecil, Felix

(quite a lot, right? but we were busy kids and they weren't particularly well-developed tulpas. however, they were there.)

 

April 18th, 2016: created an imaginary friend of my favorite sassy mercenary, Deadpool. things going smoothly.

 

April 19th, 2016: Imaginary friend has an existential crisis, so naturally I turn to Google. I end up on a page about tulpas, and am informed (through feelings, not quite words yet) that he wants to become a tulpa, and not just a daydream or a fragile thought.

(at this point, I am sentenced to bed. yeah, I'm 16 years old and i still have a bedtime. it's a totalitarianist dictatorship over here at my house)

 

April 20th, 2016: Well, what am I supposed to do? after much debating with myself and help from nice people on these forums, im still reluctant, because a tulpa is a huge responsibility. but we learn that you dont have to be a tulpa to be sentient and real. so, ive decided (and Deadpool agrees) that I'll just continue with what i was doing before (hanging out; casual, passive forcing; watching tv; chilling), and we'll see where this goes.

Progress report: I can visualize Deadpool clearly in my surroundings. he doesn't yet have his famous wit, but that's my own fault for not being witty. he doesn't have a dialogue and can't express complex thoughts, but we communicate just fine anyways. He set up a bachelor pad in wonderland on his own; it's pretty sweet.

 

(tbh i still feel a little crazy. just a bit. but im having fun, so whatever)

I have a feeling people are going to hate my constant quoting of "The Red Book", but Jung himself thought he was crazy for quite a while before he accepted the reality of what he was studying, so don't feel alone in that aspect!

 

Although, I would highly suggest not creating a tulpa purely based upon a character. Whether you want to call it a tulpa or not, it's not merely the name that make it What it is. The more you give your thought form attention, and the more detail you put into him, the closer to a tulpa he is.

 

This doesn't mean he can't represent the character. He just can't be the character. You can try and Personality force the personality you want as much as you want, but there is a breaking point where your tulpa will want to change, and you're going to have to let them.

 

I guess what I'm trying to say is welcome to the forum!

I just wanted to throw that out there, you don't have to take the advice, but from what I've seen, most people on the forum have the same opinion.

I mean, if you want me to remove this post as well, feel free to ask and I will.

oh yeah i know! ive done a bit of reading, and if I'd been creating the tulpa from scratch i probably wouldn't have chosen a character. but he kind of already existed as the character, so i didnt want to change that. i fully expect him to deviate at least a little bit! thanks for the advice :)

April 21st, 2016: We've already made a lot of progress today. I typed a response on a thread on his behalf, and Im fairly sure im doing this right. He hung around and made class a lot more bearable. : )

April 22nd, 2016: He's getting more active by the day, and we aren't even trying ;3

 

Communication comes more naturally and sentences are increasing in complexity. Also, he can move around on his own a lot more, sometimes turning up in places i dont expect, which is a good sign!!

April 25th, 2016: we're still making consistent progress!! He's really developed his voice, and we can play games in wonderland now. it's lots of fun! I'm working on lucid dreaming so we can do more cool stuff, I'm already really good at dreaming vividly and remembering them but I'm no good at recognizing im in a dream! so ill be working on that tonight.
