Hello there,

So about 3 days ago my friend sent me the creepypasta story about tulpae. She did tell me that she thought it was all fiction and that a tulpa would never turn itself against you unless you want them to, so it's not that the story scared me off or something like that. But yeah, I found the topic very interesting so I started googeling about it and also looking up tulpa-blogs on tumblr and that's how I stumbled up onto this site.

So I've been studying the subject for a couple of days and I really feel like I should make a tulpa. There's just some questions I want to ask before I start this whole process.

- I have been thinking about traits and even though I haven't even started creating a tulpa, I have been thinking about what I would want it to look like. I've come up with soooo many ideas, like a cute girl or a magical girl with wings and stuff or even an animal, but I don't know what to choose! Should I just keep it simple and tell him/her/it that (s)he can develop the way (s)he wants?

-Do you have to speak out loud to your tulpa? For example, when you're just narrating or asking them questions. I really can't talk out loud all the time since there's always people in this house like EVERYWHERE, is it ok to 'think' the things you want to say and then they 'hear' it? Or should I whisper?

- What does a tulpa do when you're just doing stuff for yourself? Like when I'm reading, on the computer, watching tv etc, don't they get bored? And will they always be there or just when you go into wonderland or tulpaforcing?

-What does a tulpa do when they're for example sitting in a chair and then all of a sudden 'an actual person' sits down in that chair?

-Do they go with you to school/work? Isn't it distracting?

My god I have so many questions, I'll just stop it right here. I'm sure I haven't asked them all, and I don't feel like I should know EVERYTHING about them, I will find out eventually. But I just want the best for my tulpa and if I'm not in a good enough position to make one I just won't.

P.S. I'm sorry if you didn't quite understand my English, it's not my native language and I'm still a teen and learning so yeah.

Thank you!

Start working on personality. As it develops in your mind, you will end up choosing a form. If you haven't, just pick one. If you suddenly want to switch, then just discard the form you have been visualizing and start on the other.

You can speak to your tulpa via telepathy. This will take longer to get them sentient, but it will make it easier for them to communicate via telepathy once vocal.

It depends how you look at it. Most people go with the idea that they are always there. The people who use the wonderland method usually follow the idea that the tulpa just goes into the wonderland.

The person sinks through the tulpa and the tulpa, depending on their personality, would probably just get up out of the chair.

They don't have to go to school with you, they can go for a walk around the school while you are in class. If they are in class with you, they might act like any other student and stay quiet and learn, maybe talk to you every now and again.

Thank you very much! I guess I might just go for communicating with them trough telepathy, being able to 'speak' to them in public and making it easier for them to communicate with me feels like it's worth the wait.

1. You can do that, but you can also go through the forms again and see if you don't like one of them the best OR you can give your tulpa the ability to shapeshift and give it multiple forms.

2. No, you can speak inside your mind when speaking to your tulpa, but whispering is also fine although I don't see much benefits to it compared to speaking to your tulpa in your head.

3. They can be doing anything they like. They can be in the wonderland, they can be watching what you are doing, they can be looking at some TV series through your memories etc.

4. Depends on tulpa and your believes. E.g. the tulpa might "teleport" next to him, they might still be there ...

5. As before, they can, but they don't have to. They are like humans, they have consciousness and free will, they will decide what they want to do.

I'm going to preface this with that I think all of this is purely psychological, nothing "magic" about it. The part about someone else sitting in a chair "occupied" by a tulpa just got me thinking. We only "see" the tulpa because of the self-induced hallucination, we impose the hallucination over what we physically see and end up with what appears to be the tulpa in the actual world (at least as I understand it). Forgive the photoshop reference here, but it would seem like our vision is the background layer and the tulpa sits on a layer above it, so what is to stop our minds from placing the tulpa over a person? Or do we have a sort of filter that only places them above the environment, but not necessarily people or other things? Or I guess we have an understanding about how the tulpa should look in its environment, say if they were sitting in an armchair we wouldn't see the parts of his/her body that are behind the armrest, and we understand that they shouldn't go over people? I guess it might be possible for some people to just have the tulpa still be imposed over the person like it is over objects if it works like I think it might. Could someone with a tulpa comment on this?

1. All up to you. Choose what feels best to you. You can make her be just about anything you can imagine. If your imagination is decent, the sky's the limit.

2. Thinking to them works as well; I can often think to mine and get responses now. However I found that I got more effect from out-loud narration than whispering, and more from whispering than thinking, though obviously you can't do out loud or even whispering everywhere.

3. They hang out in the wonderland unless you bring them out IRL with you, which you should do at least some of the time. Bringing a tulpa out also gives you a bit of a head start of imposition. The more of your activities you can involve her in, the better. However, she should be fine entertaining herself in the wonderland, or just thinking, some of the time.

Occasionally you might go to the wonderland and find she isn't there. Then you can either teleport her to you (imagine her to be there), or try to locate her either by sight or emotion. Note that teleporting generally only works properly if she wants to come be where you are. Otherwise you get a non-sentient doll copy of her instead; it'll be pretty obvious when this happens.

4. Move, I would think. I'm only starting with imposition, and still having to actively imagine her in places IRL. So I haven't seen her reaction to this, but mine is to move her and a bit of mild annoyance.

5. They can. Could be distracting, could be helpful. If she's distracting, she'll probably understand and let you send her to the wonderland or leave her home. However, bearing with the distraction and teaching her what you do may be useful, and she could help you do it once she understands it.
