Virgil August 21, 2012 August 21, 2012 Sounds like proprioceprive or equilibrioceptive (ugh, what a god-awful word) hallucinations. I think they sometimes occur with a high fever. I'd venture to guess a fever could somehow affect the cerebellum, but I have no idea why such hallucinations would occur during tulpaforcing. Perhaps the mechanism is the same as in other kinds of somatosensory hallucinations that sometimes accompany tulpaforcing. Bayesian inference

Perhaps the mechanism is the same as in other kinds of somatosensory hallucinations that sometimes accompany tulpaforcing. Odd effects like that sometimes appear with meditation. It could have to do with being in an unfamiliar state of mind for a longish period, or you're sitting in a position that pinches or presses on something.
