sage07 March 7, 2021 March 7, 2021 About five minutes ago, I had a conversation with my tulpa, Keir. Keir did not, obviously, respond, as they're very new and this was my first time talking to them. I made a basic outline for what Keir looks like, and I'm wondering if i should do more? I've heard people say it's bad to create a detailed personality and look for your tulpa, but others say it's a good thing. So I guess, here are my questions: 1. Is it a good idea to define what Keir looks like in detail, and their personality in detail too? 2. What should I do in the very early stages of tulpa creation to ensure that Keir develops well and is happy? 3. Is there a time range for first responses/sentience? I know it can vary a lot but I'd love to know what to expect! 4. Are there any tips I should know? My tulpa, Keir, will use this colour if they come online later on.
Tewi March 7, 2021 March 7, 2021 (edited) Detailed personality is fine, and development wise, it can only help (to be thinking about them more). Just be aware that they'll unlikely stay exactly the same as first imagined. However, this change should be a natural over-time process, and really doesn't need to be worried about like people sometimes imply. 1. Sure, if you'd like to, it can only help. Tulpas tend to be comfortable with what their host likes, so it's rare to see them be upset with how you developed them to be. They can change if they want later. 2. Just spend time thinking about them, hope to hear them respond when you talk to them, et cetera. Definitely don't worry or stress about them - they're fine, and they'd want you to be too. 3. It depends on the person, really. Some people with extensive backgrounds in daydreaming and/or roleplaying or writing can get responses immediately, and it's just a matter of developing them into a stable, consistent and persistent presence (a tulpa). Others spend months and experience only one or two moments that seemed like autonomy. Your expectations go a long way in this too - a drier, less creative mind that's too logical can easily stamp out any would-be autonomy of a developing tulpa by dismissing borderline experiences. It shouldn't take too long, just keep it up. 4. Your belief dictates your experience. "Real" and "Fake" do not exist in our minds, only what we experience, and our beliefs in what we experienced shape that. Obviously most people work in relatively logical ways, but just be aware that at the end of the day, it's all in your head, and you dictate what you believe you experienced. Though of course, the goal is natural experiences that flow on their own and don't require any special "belief" on your end. Putting faith in at the start (if you choose to) can open up self-reinforcing experiences more quickly later on. A well-developed system shouldn't need to think about doubts or belief or whatnot anymore, they just live and interact as they please. sage07 March 7, 2021 Author March 7, 2021 @Tewi Aaah, thank you so much for answering my questions, that definitely helps a lot. I'll probably detail their personality a medium amount. I'd say I'm quite creative (I do aspire to be an author!), so hopefully that speeds up our process! My tulpa, Keir, will use this colour if they come online later on.

You can certainly define both as much as you like, but they can always choose to deviate from it later on (and that’s totally okay!) 2. Just talk to them, pay them attention. One day I was too indecisive on what I wanted to do during a session, and I got a stern response of “just talk to me” 3. Tewi answered this really well - it depends on the person, and also how much effort you put in can’t hurt either! 4. It’s totally okay to do short active forcing sessions - I can’t really concentrate/sit still for long periods of time, personally - so I broke them down into shorter active sessions throughout my day (got a 30-minute break, do a little bit of active forcing. Same at night, and so on. You get the idea). A short 10-minute session is better than a long unproductive one. Host: IronStriker Tulpa: Spitfire (01/03/2021)

There's nothing wrong with defining Keir's looks and personality, but don't be worried if he starts to deviate! I'm pretty happy with the look Phil gave me, though I've sought out a more extensive wardrobe than he gave me at first. As for personality I'm still learning who I am, and Phil's helping me explore my depths when he can focus. 2. Make sure you give him a lot of love and attention. 🥰 Tulpas are kind of like flowers, you've got to "water" them. 🌻 3. Gosh, it's a huge range from what I've heard. I'm an unusual case as Phil was thinking about me for over a year before he knew what a Tulpa was, so I was kind of on the fast track once he started forcing more seriously. But if you allow yourself to believe he is there, and you give him plenty of attention, I bet you'll start to get responses within a few weeks! 😁 4. Converse with Keir and include him in every activity that you can! I watch videos and play games with Phil and he takes me on walks and drives, and I even hang out with him at work during the down times. Talking to Keir during downtimes in work or school would be great for you two! 😁 Hope things are working out for you two! 😁 You both seem really sweet! Just don't stress too much about doing things the "right" way and just let things happen at their own pace. There'll be up and down days but I believe in you! ❤️ Chloe. 🏳️⚧️😎 Host of Simmie.
