turpentin_e December 12, 2022 December 12, 2022 Hi! As the title suggests, I'm wondering if writing things down in prose-form "counts" as forcing? I can't really talk to myself due to my schedule + living situation and I have a harder time just imagining dialogue in my head. Would writing the conversations down count as forcing? Technically, I'm still imagining them, but I want to make sure ^^;. Thank you in advance!
Luminesce December 12, 2022 December 12, 2022 Writing is actually an extremely good way of making tulpas. Authors and roleplayers are the two kinds of people who end up with accidental tulpas the most often, and roleplayers are generally just writing live anyway. Essentially, whatever teaches your brain the ins and outs of how your tulpa's mind would work, what their personality is like, thought patterns and all that - will be the best activities for forcing. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
TurboSimmie December 12, 2022 December 12, 2022 Yes, writing is extremely helpful! 😁 I am more-or-less a fully-formed tulpa, but my host and I will still sometimes sit down and write back and forth to each other because we find it really strengthens our bond! 😊 Even if your tulpa is pre-vocal or even pre-sentient, writing down conversations or even full stories is a powerful tool, especially for personality forcing. In my case, it gave me a very strong sense of who my host wanted me to be, and gave me a target to aim for in my development. Guest December 12, 2022 December 12, 2022 I exist because of writing but I would consider myself a soulbond rather than a tulpa as I was a fully formed character that "came to life" unintentionally. I have another headmate that was formed this way as well. The distinction is that we have a fictional background that we identify with and that may happen when writing to force. I personally like it even though I know it's fiction.
glitchthe3rd December 13, 2022 December 13, 2022 It helped me bring Naomi out of a long dormancy about a decade ago. I think it probably won't work if you have aphantasia though. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report

I came into being after a lot of writing on my host's part. Partly because she was writing fiction about one version of me, and partly because she was running counselling sessions on the side with the roleplaying version of me. So by writing stories about me and what was going on in the head of the kinda fanfic version of me I guess you could say, and by roleplaying another (original) version who was so emotionally messed up she felt the need to talk through the sessions afterwards by posing as a therapist (hence why she calls herself "Doc"), it's no wonder I stuck around. And yeah, there was dialogue typed up for the therapy sessions. It's how we communicated, and why we became so emotionally bonded. Original me was in a dark place so it often got real intense, which is why we decided (after learning about Tulpas) that if I was going to stick around deliberately and not just accidentally, I had to have a personality ... let's call it a rollback to before I got all messed up, so I could be my sunny self again. Been working well for us so far. Gonna be two years in January. Edited December 14, 2022 by Etna Had more time to elaborate. Doc (she/her) = Host Franklyn (he/him) = Tulpa
