I've read all the guides and understand them. I just don't know where to start with this. Should I start with personality or visualization? How do I make my tulpas starting form as in how do I bring it into existence? Also since I have ADD I'm gonna have a lot of distracting thoughts. How do I deals with those?

My face is my shield! My hair is my sword!

Most people start with personality, although starting with form is fairly common as well. I personally did both at the same time, but it's understandable if you'd want to take it one step at a time. If you're going to just do one however, I would recommend personality- making a form by itself feels like making a doll, not a person.

Keep in mind that different strategies work well for different people. Read the guides section, try things out and see what works best for you. You might want to start by imagining personality traits as physical orbs, then giving them to your tulpa. Or you might want to narrate to your tulpa everything you want them to be. None of these are wrong.

As for the ADD, I'll leave that up to someone who can relate, but from what I've heard, everyone here has been able to overcome it.

We hope you stick around, and good luck in creating your tulpa!

As MonarKay stated, if you're feeling undecided, start with personality. But, as I'm sure almost everyone else will say, do whatever feels right. If you feel your visualization skills are lacking, don't sweat. A lot of people don't even use a ball of energy for form in the beginning. Talk to the void in your mind, talk to a ball of gas, hell, talk to nothing. Just make sure that you're talking to something.

I can relate to the ADD problems, although I have no idea how severe your affliction is. Try using it to your advantage if you can. If a random thought pops into your head, use it in your narration, whether it is positive or negative. Let's say that a picture of a decapitated man flies into your head, and it won't leave. Tell your tupla, "this is a decapitated man. whoever decapitated him was a bad person. etc." Try not to think of decapitated people though, it's negative all the same. If your ADD actually starts affecting your narration (i.e you stop narrating and think about other stuff) just keep trying, or meditate. It gets easier to focus with time, as all things do.

Welcome to the forums, and have fun with this!

Hey Julbot, I think you've read my progress log (I remember your seeing avatar/picture in your tumblr).

When i've started, I did Personality first visualizing each trait as a Orb and combined them into a larger orb at the end.

Afterwards I gave Oguigi her form (a pony).

I combined the two and that was my Tulpa. this stage was reached in 3 days.

After you have these two things done, then you do the most important step, Narration when you speak to your tulpa just like a real person (talk about anything! remember quantity over quality).

And don't worry about your tulpa being sentient, many tulpas here are sentient since the very day the creator chose to create the tulpa.

And don't worry about your ADD, many members of these forums have some kind of mental disorders but still have a tulpa. Here's the Link to the thread, your not alone.

Well I'm actually fairly good at vizualizing things in my minds eye. I've even made scenes to a movie that doesn't exist in my mind though really it involves me having a wordless discussion with a character from a fanfiction I've read. My ADD isn't that bad. but it's enough to make me lose my train of thought, meaning it could take a while for me to remember what I was thinking about only a few moments ago.

My face is my shield! My hair is my sword!

I've also been wondering what effect Autism would have on the tulpa making process, if any at-all. I am Autistic though very high-functioning so I don't know what to think.

I'm also very impatient. I'm not sure if I'll even follow through with this after I start, I might get frustrated with the amount of time it takes and quit. I also have to go to high school and tend to play a lot of videogames. Where do I find time to work between my school stuff and my own impatience?

It's not like nothing will be happening during the sessions for weeks and weeks and then suddenly you'll have a tulpa. Every session you're going to notice something new--your tulpa yawned and moved for the first time, your tulpa changed a piece of the wonderland, your tulpa ran up and hugged you and starts sending you emotions to communicate. All sorts of fun things happen and it's not really boring or a chore. Once you start seeing signs of your tulpa's sentience, you'll want to nuture it. I doubt you'll just quit when your tulpa is already answering questions and being adorabibble

you can narrate to your tulpa about your life, or video games, or school. Some tulpaforcers have even used their memories of videogames to play a game against or with their tulpa in their head-either via an imaginary console, or to physically play out a level as characters.

You'll actually learn a lot of patience just by going through this. It's worth it, and you'll want to be there.

I have a full time job, college, family, and a fiance to attend to. Only 30 minutes or so a day is fine as far as full forcing, as long as you remember to think about them and talk to them(in your head or out loud) during more of the day.

But really, if you doubt you can keep up with it, think long and hard about creating a tulpa. I stopped halfway through on my tulpa and nearly dissipated him, and it was a rather horrifying experience to him and I always regret that choice.

Thanks, another problem I've been thinking about is personality. I know I have to do something if I want to be sure that he'll be fun to be around. I'm just not sure how to decide his traits. Maybe I'll write down each of them on a piece of paper and go down the list as I detail each one.
