Mojojoe October 24, 2012 October 24, 2012 So I'm new and I have finally decided to give this a go, I have done a fair bit of research on the matter and so have a decent idea on what I have to do. I have started off just doing a mix of form and personality which seems to be going OK (The form of the tulpa changed significantly without my input on the first day) BUT I am finding forcing really hard, I don't have ADD or anything like that but I find it really hard to focus. I do forcing for what feels like ages and when I finally get tired/really distracted and stop it has only been 20 minutes usually :/ (And yes I have been using tones) So I ask the more experienced people here, how does one remain 'On task' for such long period of time while forcing?
Guest Fillyfooler October 24, 2012 October 24, 2012 At the beginning it was hard for me to stay on task too. I would start out with three twenty minute sessions then I practiced until I was able to do two thirty minute sessions and eventually I was able to a one forty five minute session. So at the beginning start off forcing for little bit several times a day and work yourself up from there.
Oguigi October 24, 2012 October 24, 2012 Getting Tired or distracted is normal, especially when your starting early on. it's something you get better with over time. Don't Check the time too often (better yet turn off you clocks or keep them out of view), and Never associate progress with hours counted. you Don't have to get everything done in one go, it's okay to take short breaks (like 5mins), and then go back to forcing. also hot drinks will help you relax and focus, heck even hot water will do the trick. I won't lie Mojojoe staying focus and on task, is much easier once you actually have a tulpa to interact back and forth with. My Tulpa Name is Oguigi. I remain "On Task" by focusing on her and the goal we are trying to achieve. Usually the easiest thing to do is Narrate, talk to your tulpa while you're doing your daily activities. and keep your tulpa in mind as often as possible during the day. pix: Link Diary: http://ponystasha.tumblr.com Koomer.
Aarix October 24, 2012 October 24, 2012 I've been at it for quite a while, it'll be a while before this gets an easier. Staying "on task" is a very common issue. Try to remain positive and determined even when things are doubtful. But remember, they're sentient now so start treating them like it now and you should be be fine. Do more research or read others progress reports. You can catch people who are willing to help in the shout box like me, I wish you the best of luck. Dryden October 29, 2012 October 29, 2012 Same way you get to Carnegie Hall. The only difference [between reality and a dream] is that what many see we call a real thing, and what only one sees we call a dream. But things that many see may have no taste or moment in them at all, and things that are shown only to one may be spears and water-spouts of truth from the very depth of truth"
