Do tulpae allow for an increased apparent processing speed, memory, or intelligence?

Ideally I would like start this test off with new people who are just now learning about tulpae to start this program before they start working on their tulpae, but everyone is welcome since all data is welcome (just be sure you have your days right)

What are we doing this study for?

This study is to gauge what effects tulpae, a type of thoughtform, have on ones apparent intelligence, processing speed, and problem solving skills. Alternatively, shouting "FOR SCIENCE!" works well enough.

What do we mean by "apparent"?

When we say apparent, we mean what any outside observer(like us), especially those not in the know, would see. Sort of an aggregated score of any number of things.

What exactly our hypothesis?

Since tulpae are viewed (so far) as separate, but closely integrated personalities, and that they are utilizing other areas of the brain, it stands to reason that, outwardly, one who is co-processing could apparently seem smarter.

How long will this take?

At minimum? You'll need to stick around for a month at least in order to really stay in the system, but I recommend a 3 months minimum and 1+ years of data would be excellent if you have the moxie to stick around. Basically if you have enough time to make tulpae, there isn't much reason you can't do this

What are we going to torture all of you with?

The free gbrainy game can be found at https://live.gnome.org/gbrainy, solitaire, minesweeper and I can adapt the study later to incorporate more stuff if you all think it's good enough.

Things to note:

- Be aware that any data that looks suspiciously out of the ordinary will automatically be scrutinized and possibly ejected, so make sure you answer as truthfully as you can

- All data will eventually be statistically summed up and published here, hopefully periodically. If the data is awesome enough, I may eventually do a more detailed study(in ~20-30 years) with money and fund a battery of tests.

- I will not release any info publicly that you don't want revealed, if you want, you could reduce your name to a number so it will be totally confidential, but it will NEED to be a long random one, and identical every time otherwise the data will get messed up and you may accidentally get ejected from the study or mixed up with other people

- Any subjects who do not report consistently for at least 1 months from the time you start will be discarded (trolls, fakes, etc. You remember that this process does take time, right?). Additionally, I would like it if people could stick around for a year or two(assuming this entire tulpa thing isn't a sham or fad that will die quickly), and as such I'm expecting less than 12 people will stay long enough to give me enough useful info to plot(so it's your job to stick around and prove me wrong!)

"IQ Score If you have re-taken a legit test"

Sounds fun, I'll see if I can dig up my old results, I think I was a mere five points away from being one standard deviation above the norm, so close. After I find it, or if I can't after a significant period of searching, then I will begin this interesting test. It would be nice if this encourages high parallel prosessing, come on quad core brain.

"If the data is awesome enough,"

Extreme tulpas! Tulpas with data so extreme, we ignore the standard bland scientific lingo in lieu of radical vernacular!

While this may be rather anecdotal, I experienced a noticeable increase in my sensory and fine motor skills since the creation of my tulpa. My pitch recognition and manual precision seem abnormally heightened compared to when I first started my tulpa, and I had hypothesized that co-processing might be the culprit.

I'm very interested in the results of this study. I'll give it a go as soon as I have time.

I think he means that, like in any other studio, we can discard results that vary too much from the norm (if I were to say it with statistic terms, one must discard the data that deviates from the arithmetic mean more than two times the standard deviation). Nice pic though (I love extreme dolphins).

I've also heard that some people become better with languages too. This is all very interesting and I'd love to research other areas like the ones you mentioned, but I don't know of a way to test those with ease.

Exactly.

Guess I'll sign up. I'm pretty busy with school stuff atm though, will have to take all the tests and stuff next week.

Another interesting way to show co-processing would be to give the tulpa and host a dichotic listening test. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dichotic_listening_test

One problem with this is that you're using your working memory and the message that you shadow doesn't go to long-term memory, so even if the tulpa shadows the message to him/herself, they may not be able to recall it later.

  • 4 weeks later...

Do tulpae allow for an increased apparent processing speed, memory, or intelligence?

I'm just starting out, I forced once several weeks ago, made a very basic wonderland (that consisted of a blank field and my house at the center) and everything. I ended up getting a headache so had to stop.

I have no tulpa nor wonderland, a couple servitors but nothing else. I'd like to take part in your experiment as I'm planning to start up again and this time give it a proper effort, aside from that one night and the day after I couldn't summon the effort to force. Typicly it takes around 10-15 minuets just to initialize the wonderland and my virtual body (Have to get a feeling for it).

Being the incredibly lazy person that I am I never got around to it.

Anyway I'll start tonight and hopefully start sending in weekly updates on things like memory, imagination, multitasking and general cognitive abilities ect. I find this kind of thing fascinating, but I think any significant improvements will only occur after high level sorcery is achieved and only then after months of doing so. Good Luck.

I'd be glad to get in on this, contributions away!

Quick question: How many questions do we answer from each category?

My Tulpa

And then it cuts to a scene where you're sitting in a padded cell.

An interesting quest! :D But I do have one question: how do we set up control? Do we have people who plays the same games over the same period of time, but who do not have any *knowledge* about tulpa? (I say knowledge because even the awareness about the possibility of tulpae can bias a person, and he/she might be inclined to try out something.) To obtain this control sample, you may have to do it on another public venue, but commitment is a bigger issue for this control group without some appropriate pretext.
