I made Hex a little Null(Little semi-fluid slug thing made of a sort of energy) as a pet, I'm a bit worried it might become sentient from her interaction with it, just wondering if there is precident for for this happening, any fail-safes I could implement?

Luna made a slimegirl servitor that tried to become sentient, but my subconscious was able to repress it. Along with all the other monstergirl servitors >_>

My progress report

Oh Glitch, to have your mind. Hex wants to know if you'd care if she named her null Glitchy.

Actually, would it be possible to create a limited sentience? Little more than bundle of instinct and emotion tied to a form. I would be quite happy with that result, but I don't want another source of sapiant thoughts in my head without it being planned out ahead of time.

I think that one of Chupi's tulpas started off as a pet, so you could ask him.

Besides that, fearing sentience will probably do more to create it than prevent it. The bigger factor is probably your tulpa's attitude; if they treat it as sentient then it will likely become so.

Obviously, if you want to avoid another tulpa then not making a pet is the best way to go. Still, if neither you nor your tulpa treat the pet as sentient then you'd probably be safe enough.

You're probably referring to Eevee, now usually a human named Evan. He started out as a lifeless form I gave my first tulpa Lyra to play with. From the start this was an experiment to see if he would eventually turn sentient with enough puppeting and so forth by Lyra. When I gave her the Eevee and explained this, she said he's already sentient, and he was moving later that day, and sending very basic thoughts the next. Later we changed him to human (my idea but he signed off on it) because I felt like he was progressing slower and his form made him feel more like a pet. So, not really applicable here.

Lyra: human female, ~17

Evan: boy, ~14, was an Eevee

Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her
