MisterTelecaster December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 Here's what happened: I was lying in bed meditating last night, like I usually do to clear my head before forcing. I got to a decent enough state to enter my wonderland, but then all of a sudden I got this sensation like I was being pulled away from all of those thoughts and such by gravity, like I was falling out of my body. I panicked and shot myself back up and out into full awareness, and tried again, same result. So I just apologized to Khoja and went to sleep. I wish I could describe the feeling better. So what do you guys think that was? /x/ says astral projection, but I'm thinking more along the lines of lucid dreams or maybe just Khoja pulling some shenanigans. I really don't believe in projection and all that spiritual stuff. Either way, if it happens again tonight, I'll just try not to be afraid and let it take me where it will. If I'm not in a coma or dead or some shit, I'll report back with my findings. Update: tried it again, I resisted on on instinct, as hard as I tried not to. I'll do it again tonight. Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
Weird0 December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 /x/ says >/x/ >nuff said. What you experienced was nothing but some kind of prestage of sleep paralysis. You were merely falling asleep. I get those often enough. You wont fucking die by sleeping. They say great science is built on the shoulders of giants - not here. At Tulpa.info we do all our science from scratch; no hand holding.
MisterTelecaster December 5, 2012 Author December 5, 2012 The coma/death comment was mostly a joke, the worst thing I'm expecting is weird freaky dreams Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
Eventide December 5, 2012 December 5, 2012 This has happened to me while trying to initiate a wake induced lucid dream. Yeah, I think its just sleep paralysis.
MrCrazy December 6, 2012 December 6, 2012 That happened to me all the time when I was a kid. Don't worry about it.
Mister Fluttershy December 7, 2012 December 7, 2012 This is usually the feeling you get when you're about to fall asleep. Has to do with your mind separating with your body and stuff. Super awkward post go!
moondragon December 7, 2012 December 7, 2012 I know you don't believe in astral projection, but a lot of people who do visualize a silver cord connecting their body to their astral body..Maybe if you are seriously freaked out by what happened, you could do the same kind of visualization, so if the same thing happens again you won't be scared.
MisterTelecaster December 7, 2012 Author December 7, 2012 I don't expect to be astral projecting anytime soon [read "ever"], but I'll keep that in mind if everything I think I know about everything turns out to be wrong I think I might post a poll to see people's opinions on the whole astral projection thang though Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
