The question before the forum is this: under what circumstances would you create a tulpa for someone else? Would they have to be related to you? Would they have to be sick? Would it be a way to give someone a guardian angel? Would you want them to know about it? So before any of the crackpots chime in a say that I don't have any scientific basis for my questions, let me say that I want this to be a discussion focused on ethics not science. I am looking for ideas, not a fight. I have my own answer which I shall share later on.

Given that tulpas are created for trivial reasons to reside within the mind of those who created them, I doubt that the ethical question here is really about purpose of existence. If tulpas could do such things as guide or protect someone else, then it wouldn't be beyond the usual ethical stretches to create such a tulpa for them.

How you would go about such a thing is a completely different matter, but presumably not one which you intended to be discussed here.

I would treat giving someone a Tulpa the same way you would get someone a pet for Christmas. I'd have to talk it over with them and make sure that they both want the Tulpa in the first place, and can take care of it properly.

I was thinking of a creating a tulpa to talk with some one in a coma for example. Or if I had a daughter who was going away to school. You know, so I could keep tabs on her. Obviously, the tulpa could not keep her from doing something stupid. But maybe it could alert me so that I might could help her. And I think if I were to create a tulpa for someone with their knowledge, then I think I would rather co-create a tulpa with them. Which would not be a tulpa, but would be better classified as an egregore. For the record I have not created a tulpa on anyone'e behalf. But I have one that has offered to serve in that capacity should I desire it. Thanks for the reponses, anyone else?

Use my method and tones. They enable the Transfer (100 mana cost) perk after around the 500 XP mark. The perk will be starting at level 1, but you can upgrade its level by using my seizure method to transfer the tupper via an invisible lightning beam, giving you massive amounts of experience. An additional item build such as Ring of Fedilius, giving you a +2 transfer speed bonus and a 0.65 mana regeneration aura, is usually a good idea to use in conjunction with the happening. I'm assuming you're a regular level 3 tulpamancer, so you should have enough XP to get the Transfer perk soon. You have around 80 mana on level 3, so make sure you grind some servitors on the wonderland lane before proceeding. If you beat Subconshan in your wonderland's core near the river bank, you can get the Tone of Immortality. This is also very useful, should the Transfer fail and accidentally off your life and force you to respawn in someone else's head.

Your point is well taken and duly noted. I shall keep it in my magickal toolbox.

you could create a shared tulpa with anyone, its called an egregore. you can also create it with someone, then cut your bond with it, thus making it their tulpa.

I am tempted to scoff at this thread and declare the ethics irrelevant due to the impossibility of he scenario. I stopped myself. Actually, debates like this might be useful after all. Lines of reasoning laid out in hypothetical scenarios can help guide us towards actual policies when real but unexpected events occur. Simply put, we can expect to be surprised. In regards to this question about creating a tulpa for another person, I quite like Megabusta's answer.

my thoughtform = Isis

her appearance = stylized rabbit with dark fur and glowing eyes

her developmental stage = imaginary friend

I've heard about this from a friend, or rather, people unlocking tulpae for others. That was something completely different though.

But a guardian-like being.. I wouldn't just bestow that upon anyone without having them knowing, circumstances could be that the person on the receiving end would consist of either ignoring the tulpa or being ridiculously scared if they do notice it. So yes, I would need to tell the person beforehand.

I wouldn't recommend something like this. A tulpa is developed through one's own conscious, and therefore has aspects of the creator's conscious within. The feeling of accepting someone else's creation as my own wouldn't make me feel okay.

Not too sure about egregores, sharing is just not something I would want to do when it comes to tulpae.

Parapsych, n shit

Guys it's on the metaphysics board. assume it possible for this occasion.

I'd like a shared tulpa for myself and my friends, so we can talk through the tulpa to each other.
