Hey people,

I'm new here and there's no introduction area so I thought I would say hi now :) Anyway just got some beginner's questions, you have probably heard them about a million times before but there just some things I need to know before I get started.

1) Does age matter?

preferably I would like someone who was 15 and had a tulpa at that age, but this question doesn't matter too much because I think I know the answer.

2) Does creating a tulpa make random hallucinations happen?

This is important because I've seen it in other places before and it's quite serious because I don't want to have to take that risk ending up mentally insane, I know stupid beginner's question but i'm fairly new to even the whole idea.

3) Can a tulpa really help you with school?

Now this is not the reason why I want to have a tulpa, and I personally didn't even know about it before further research into it but it sounds like a nice extra.

4) What if your tulpa hates you?

This is the last question but it seems fairly important for me to ask because I don't want to go through life knowing that something inside my mind hates me, I would think there are ways to improve friendships again if they break?

( P.S. whats plural for tulpa?, just wanted to know I asked someone but they never came back to me)

Thank you everyone, I hope I have fun here and make a new friend (tupla) ;)

There is an introduction thread in off-topic board.

Does age matter?

No but yes. You can theoretically make a tulpa at any age, but if you're young should be careful. If you make a tulpa based off x at the age of 15, you may not like x when you're 18. 15 is an age of constant change.

Does creating a tulpa cause random hallucinations?

Generally no, though your visualization skills may go off the deep end and you might see, for example, shapes in clouds without meaning to. Nothing like seeing a man through the window or anything. It'll also subside after while.

Can a tulpa really help you with school?

It depends on the tulpa's traits.

What if your tulpa hates you?

Unless you seriously hate yourself to a destructive degree, your tulpa won't hate you. It may get mad at you at times, but it won't hate you.

Plural for tulpa can be:

Tulpa, tulpas, tulpae, tulpi

1) If you're asking about long-term risk, then there are plenty of members here aged 15 OT younger, but few who have had tulpas for longer than a few months. It's not generally thought to be detrimental though.

If it's about preference, like Phi said, then think ahead and try not to make a particularly radical tulpa if you want to be future-proof.

2) No.

3) It's sometimes said that tulpas can help with memory recall and the like, but that's not often demonstrated. If your tulpa can speak clearly then they might be able to help to a lesser degree, but whether they want to or not is a different matter.

4) If your tulpa genuinely, permanently hates you then you've probably done something very terrible. It's not going to happen if you treat your tulpa with the least bit of respect.

As for the plural, some advocate 'tulpae', but I would tell you to use 'tulpas' for tl;dr reasons.

Thanks for the quick reply,

I don't really want to base my tulpa off X but rather develop a completely new character. I forgot to ask 2 questions, but there pretty short so here they are:

1) Does a Tulpa have to be human?

2) Can a Tulpa come into your dreams? and potentially make you lucid?

Thanks man really appricate it,

1) Nope. A tulpa can be anything you want.

2) Yes, actually. Tulpas can do both, but individual ability varies by maturity and some other things that no-one knows, so your results may vary.

Does a tulpa have to be human?

No, it technically doesn't even have to have a form.

The other two were already answered well enough.

> does age matter?

Noep.

> Random hallucinations?

No, except maybe your tulpa itself, I've started seeing flashes of Khoja out of the corner of my eye. The way you perceive things you see might change slightly though, but not to a hallucinatory degree. More like noticing new details and stuff from all of the visualization.

> can help in school?

Maybe, depends on the tulpa. Mine doesn't like to go digging through my memories, so she's not much help there. Some are good at memory recall and such though.

> what if hate?

You'd have to be a serious douchebag to your tulpa for it to hate you. Sometimes Khoja will get upset at me, but it's nothing we can't get through easily.

Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
