Guest January 25, 2013 January 25, 2013 [align=center]AMORTROPE, THE TULPA BASED JSRPG [JAPANESE STYLE ROLE PLAYING GAME][/align] Story Synopsis The game takes place in a modern/fantasy setting, with airships and street lights and the such. A massive excavation corporation named EnCorp hires "tulpamancers" to go and search various ruins across the world as tulpae seem to have a strange connection with the ruins. These ruins go back a long way, possibly millions of years before EnCorp was set up. Tulpae nowadays are rare due to the current methods required to make one. These ruins have a strange magical power, best described as a form of tarot. This tarot has a strong link with tulpae, even allowing them to become physical beings with the right card. That same power is incorporated into the ruins somehow and it is the task of EnCorp to harness this power so they can make new advances in technology even faster and potentially save lives. Or ruin them. As Blue is waiting for Red to arrive at the nearby airport, they are greeted by a strange voice and soon realize that they now have tulpae of their own. As they get together, they realize the amount of money they can make from joining EnCorp and join the branch located in Pleebus. However, there is more than meets the eye and soon, Blue and Red find themselves in a deal they can't refuse. ----- So what is this? This is a JSRPG designed for a host and a tulpa to play together as a method of forcing as the tulpa itself becomes a part of the game and with visualization, this game can potentially help out hosts with forcing and visualization while letting both the host and the tulpa have fun. ----- Gameplay The game runs on the RPG Maker VX Ace engine, but don't toss it aside just yet. Ever played the Persona Series? Well, it's pretty similar. That's all I can say. You still have daily shit to do while also doing your job and getting cash. There is also a tarot system that allows you to make cards that grant spells to your tulpa and it's gonna be sick. ----- Character Bios Protagonists Blue[Cassie] In-game description: Blue: The neighborhood trouble-maker in the past, he deeply regrets the decisions he has made before. Cassie: There's nothing that Blue can like about a girl that can beat how much he likes white hair. Cassie is proof. The son to a rich but abusive family, Blue ended up being sent to Pleebus after he broke one too many faces. Now 18, he lives off some inheritance money from his father's death and leads a steady but jobless life in Pleebus. That is, until he discovers a tulpa with him. Red[Reaper-sama] In-game description: Red: A tidy and well dressed student, she actually dropped out of high school and has been in much trouble since. Reaper-sama: Nyaa~~ The sister of Blue, she met a similar fate to him once her grades started dropping low and now is fated to live with her brother once again. During her airship ride to Pleebus, she discovers a tulpa with her and suggests to her brother about joining EnCorp. Note: Blue and Red's Bios are the "canon" bios. The game plays differently from the canon and is not to be taken seriously. The tulpae also follow the canon and will represent the default form of your tulpa when you start, which can be changed later. Everyone else comes later, this game is still extremely early in production. ----- More info you guys need to know about this As of current, no footage or screenshots can be shown sadly. This is still very early in development. For now, you can get information on how to contribute to this instead. Feel free to post ideas and thoughts in this threads and even requests to become NPCs. Community ideas that get implemented will be added to a list of features but things like story related ideas get sticked into a secret file instead. NPC Requests however stick to being discussed in the thread. Feel free to PM me about anything. Current list of community features: From the chat: Pot Brownies Default tulpa form choices (No ponies :() From the thread: lol i just made this thread I think that's all I can say now. Have fun making ideas and speculating!
Octaviapus[Caelex] January 25, 2013 January 25, 2013 EXCITED Music is my passion, my life, and my soul. It drives me to see the truth behind the shadow of this world, and to fight for the glory of knowledge. Music paves the road to understanding, and it is with my love for the harmonious sound, that I carry my life.
Guest Anonymous January 25, 2013 January 25, 2013 This belongs in another section, almost definitely. Time to actually contribute. I think a really cool feature would be the ability to create a character, , and have that automatically made into a sprite.
Guest January 25, 2013 January 25, 2013 This belongs in another section, almost definitely. Actually, I had permission from Pleeb to post this here. I don't exactly have PM proof or a screenshot since he came up in the chat while still reading my PM, but he did approve. It's allowed to be here.

imahaxor January 26, 2013 January 26, 2013 Ever played the Persona Series? Well, it's pretty similar. I'm listening. Sounds great, it's nice to see the JRPG genre get some love. I'm got a little hesitant when you mentioned RPG Maker; but I've seen people manage to create stunning games with it, so I'm not worried. I'm also curious as to what you will do with the plot. The only helpful thing I can think to post here would be this. It's a list of common cliches that every JRPG/RPG seems to suffer from. Is this a project that you are doing by yourself? I know that trying to go solo on creating a game can be pretty frustrating, I've tried. My Tulpa And then it cuts to a scene where you're sitting in a padded cell.
Guest January 26, 2013 January 26, 2013 I think a really cool feature would be the ability to create a character, , and have that automatically made into a sprite. As far as I'm aware, this needs a ton of scripting to do. It's extremely unlikely that I'll implement something like that Nananya actually bribed you with the money to not include pony tulpa? Tisk tisk Eonart. I'll hook you up with 10/10 Gamespot reviews for ten easy payments of $1,000. actually it was because the pony sprites i found were complete shit I'm listening. Is this a project that you are doing by yourself? I know that trying to go solo on creating a game can be pretty frustrating, I've tried. 1) Cool. 2) I've actually not had much hands on experience with it to be honest but everything so far is going the way I want so there shouldn't be much problem in creating a decent experience. 3) I've read through that many times. Most cliches do not make the game bad, rather the idea that they are bad makes the game look bad despite being decent. Regardless, I seem to be avoiding the retarded cliches or at least having them make sense. 4) I've had voice acting offers, but apart from that, this is currently a solo effort by me. It would be great to get people to help out with the following things actually:- -Area design. -Plot brainstorming. -Tarot Description brainstorming. -Artwork which would be needed first before voice acting can be implemented in any way without seeming retarded. -People with experience on RPG Maker VX Ace. -People to look out for retarded mistakes or inconsistencies. We're here and able to help you design this. Look up.
Guest DeviUnmei January 26, 2013 January 26, 2013 I would be very interested helping with this, I have been creating games for awhile now and most experiences with RPG Maker's and just now got Ace. I am pretty good at artwork and also could help out with the testing I am very thorough when it comes to finding any bug's or glitches within games. With plot idea's... I can probably just throw in a idea here and there but, I do like projects like this and it seems like a very great idea. If you need a female voice actor I am pretty decent many have said I am good at it but I am not sure. still will be interested to join.
Guest January 28, 2013 January 28, 2013 You should set up a github repository for this. I doubt anyone will take me seriously. Canon tulpae have been added to the OP, as well as improved readability of the OP.
