KenzieK February 20, 2013 February 20, 2013 Hello! I'm fairly new here. I love the atmosphere you all put out there and I appreciate the warm welcome! Ok, so I've been working on my tulpa, Yuki, for a few weeks now. She was made a few years ago before I knew what a tulpa was and I talked to her all the time. As the years went by, I saw less and less of her until she would only show up when I was upset. When I discovered the idea of a tulpa I was really excited to make Yuki more developed with her own opinions and stuff. However, I'm having a hard time with parroting. I know it can be an irritating topic, but I don't know what to do! Sometimes when we're having a conversation I realize that I'm only talking to myself. She will say things on her own, but very rarely and only a few words at a time. Advice? Please help! Name-Yuki Sex-Female Form1-Arctic wolf, big blue eyes Form2-Long white hair, blue eyes, pale skin, white wolf ears/tail, light blue jacket Personality-Compassionate, calm, sarcastic, playful, protective, introverted Stage-Sentient, vocal, working on possession
fennecfoxx February 20, 2013 February 20, 2013 It's not parroting unless it's intentional. You can't parrot accidentally. If you're ever unsure, it's her. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Whatever the case, the OG gang’s still here: Host: fennec (they/them) Tulpas: Alex (he/him) and Kayleigh (she/her) Delete all memories of those who know my awkward past
waffles February 20, 2013 February 20, 2013 Calm down. Be patient. Unfortunately, tulpas don't start magically talking fluently. Like babies, their vocal ability progresses gradually. I don't know why you would think you ruined your tulpa, but rest assured that this is fairly normal. Even if you think you're a special case, you're not. Just follow what everyone else has been advised to do, every other time this question has been asked. In case you're not familiar with the search feature, such advise involves not paying too much attention to what you're worried about, and talking to your tulpa more. Between the two, it's not hard to eventually overcome apparent communication barriers.
KenzieK February 20, 2013 Author February 20, 2013 Thank you so much to both of you for the words of encouragement! ThatOneGuy February 23, 2013 February 23, 2013 Like waffles said, just slow down and be more patient with communication. Wait for responses longer, and try not to assume anything about how long it takes to get vocal or at what rate your tulpa begins to speak more fluently and clearly. If you wait out a response, and you still don't pick anything up from your tulpa, once again just clear your mind and wait again after repeating your side of the dialouge. Some people have had tulpae get completely and fluently vocal very quickly, while others take a very long time. It's really a crapshoot sometimes, so just roll with whatever pace you get and be sure to stay patient. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
