MP3 servitor?

Recommended Posts

Some people can get in-head music better than others, but it's probably just a question of practice. For me it used to be limited to two-second clips of the most annoying bit, vocals only, in my own mindvoice, on repeat. Basically like I couldn't make myself stop repeating that bit to myself in my head.

With some practice, I can now imagine more detailed sound. A couple times when just waking up, I'll hear music. So far as I can tell it's perfectly detailed and totally real until I realize that I am in bed, not wearing headphones and no music player is running. When I realize that it is fake, it very quickly stops.

My blog :: Time expectations are bad (forcing time targets are good though)

Every time I read these forums I end up thinking "What? You mean not everyone can do that?"

If I want to listen to music in my mind then I just do. It is something that all humans should be able to do with practice, at least that's what I believed.

Meh. I'll learn eventually. I've just got to keep trying lemmas and discard them when they aren't right.

Thanks!

To be honest, I think I've accidentally created a winamp-servitor.

I can play music in my head, preoccupy myself with something, and the music would continue "playing". Although If I am REALLY focused, the music would "stop", or rather I'd just not "listen" to it. It is still playing - after I'm done with whatever I've been doing to divert focus from it, I can still hear it. Even MORE, it acted as if nothing happened.

Here is an example:

I listen to, let's say, pink floyd - dark side of the moon, and stop "listening" at 2:00 mark. I focus on something else for 3 minutes, and when I'm "back", the music is at 5:00.

It started back in the time when I never knew what tulpae or servitor is.

It was really disturbing for me back then.

It's worth noting that you're probably not going to be able to create a perfect representation of the song, so much as a loop of one part. Naturally this sort of thing lends itself more to dance/electronic music than other genres.

Actually I'm pretty confident that I would able to play the entire song, or almost, if I learn the lyrics. (for example I can imagine almost all of "I'm yours" even if I learned the text over a year ago for school)

That probably wouldn't work with longer parts without voice, but for many songs that would be just fine.
