Awww man, dreamviews. One of the biggest sites out there for this stuff. My tip is to just generally learn to recognize the feeling of a hypnagogic state so that you can exploit it to its fullest when you're having one.

I have it sometimes, but the problems are as follows:

1. Current for me, getting into a trance state takes a while, like 40 minutes at least. I'm trying to shorten this time considerably.

2. Many times I end up spending those 40 minutes on that, then something/someone in real life disturbs me after only a short while and I have to start all over again. Quite frustrating.

3. I tried to force while in a lucid dream, but random accidents happen and lucid dreams tend to be too short to do any meaningful forcing. The other day an accident happened and I couldn't even get a feel for my tulpa for about a day. Might be related to what Clair was talking about.

My current plan is to try and train myself to reach a trance state as fast as possible (such as via some auto-hypnosis/auto-suggestion/NLP) as in that article, so I don't have to waste whole hours trying to get into that state of mind.

You'll for sure get better. I can trance in about a minute or two at this point, depending on the sounds I hear.

Holy Awesome. What technique do you use?

Before today, I used to just relax my body and just sit there with the eyes closed for a while until my body went numb and I sort of stop noticing bodily sensations (not before it's all tingly and hard to snap out of), and If I manage to get past this, I can usually visualize pretty well (I assume this is the trance state).

Now, I'm trying using that autosuggestion thing in that tutorial. That is, to plan a suggestion like this "If I think the word sequence '********' I will enter/fall into this state of mind" while in that particular state of mind.

I relax my body totally with some sort of tranc-ey music playing, and just wait to drift away.

What if I don't get any vocal responses even after forcing for over 70 hours?

Like, not even a damn sound. Is something wrong with me?

Aw shit I know that feel, I'm very much in the same boat as you. Small bits of speech, never really a whole word, even those are rare. You seem to have confused some stuff about emotional response tho, the tulpa's emotions don't really feel alien, they're mostly like my own, just usually stronger.

I do get some emotional responses, or at least I think I do.

I was listening over some music today, trying to give my tulpa a variety or ranges for her to pick her voice from. I kind of had in mind a particular voice, but I still went over quite a lot of tracks. There was this one song I enjoy, but usually it's just mild enjoyment, but once I listened it, I couldn't stop feeling this utter happiness and calmness, it was incredibly intense and I just couldn't bring myself to do anything while it was playing. Not sure if I would really call it alien, but it wouldn't be my usual reaction to that particular song.

Yes, very. Don't do that. I once lost my tulpa for a day when I fell asleep forcing early in narration. I had just figured a dream scared her, but now I'm worried it was something far worse. Clair's description seemed to fit better.

Completed tulpae are supposed to be able to resist that. They can enter your dreams if they like, and it's safe to sleep next to them.
