Guest June 7, 2012 June 7, 2012 1. Is it normal for my tulpa's early verbal responses to be only one syllable, like a grunt, or even a sort of scream? 2. Is it normal for me to be constantly startled every time that they happen? 3. Is it possible to infer emotions from verbal responses this early?
ThatOneGuy June 7, 2012 June 7, 2012 Usually early on vocalizations are either incoherent or very basic, so I'd say yes that it's completely normal. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.

Guest June 7, 2012 June 7, 2012 What if I don't get any vocal responses even after forcing for over 70 hours? Like, not even a damn sound. Is something wrong with me?

Based on personal experience and lots of anecdotes on the forum yes. 2. Very much so. 3. Definitely, considering it's not uncommon for emotional responses to occur before there's any level of vocalization. What if I don't get any vocal responses even after forcing for over 70 hours? Like, not even a damn sound. Is something wrong with me? While it seems like most people do get something before then, of course it always holds true that everyone is different and experiences will vary. If you're getting emotional responses and feel like your tulpa is there but just not speaking, just keep narrating and be patient. Also, try and narrate throughout the day as much as possible, not just a few hours a day or less as with the rest of forcing. If you're not getting anything at all from your tulpa, you might try doing another round of personality work, and narrate more and you should get something eventually. Progess on my tulpa, Lauren. Guest June 7, 2012 June 7, 2012 3. Definitely, considering it's not uncommon for emotional responses to occur before there's any level of vocalization. This is interesting, because though I have felt emotions while tulpaforcing, I haven't gotten what I'd consider an "alien" emotion yet. Either that, or I'm not good enough at recognizing the source of an emotion. Verbal responses are obviously the easiest to distinguish.
Guest June 8, 2012 June 8, 2012 Is it also normal for the responses to come mostly when I'm about to sleep?
ThatOneGuy June 8, 2012 June 8, 2012 That would be called a hypnagogic state. It's easier to perceive such things in a state like that, so I'd say yes. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.

I'm trying to train myself to get into such a state quickly. Currently I'm using this guide: http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/inducing-trance-wild-part-1-a-24607/ Any recommendations/suggestions/hints?
ThatOneGuy June 8, 2012 June 8, 2012 Awww man, dreamviews. One of the biggest sites out there for this stuff. My tip is to just generally learn to recognize the feeling of a hypnagogic state so that you can exploit it to its fullest when you're having one. Orange juice helps with concentration headaches.
