Okay.

So I found out about tulpae a few days ago and completely fell in love with the idea ^_^ I was gonna use faq man's guide to make a tulpa. I figured I'd spend x amount of hours on their personality, then start on their form when that was complete, then on movements when that was done, ect. ect.

But, doing a lot of lurking on the site I read that hour counts arent good(like expecting a baby to talk magically after x amount of months).

Soooo I was thinking of working on personality one day, then form the next, then movements, ect ect then just starting the cycle over again until the tulpa became Sentient? Would that work?

Also, what exactly is forcing? Is it like how parents kinda try to shape how their kids turn out(ie making them do certain hobbies/sports, telling them what they can/ cant do, ect.)?

Any help is appreciated :3

Yes it's a quite like that. Hour counts are hour counts and not progress indicators. Different people need a different amount of time to complete a certain task.

I started with visualization when I was still working on personality, with a few witty ideas this can work. But I don't think you can get movements down when you don't yet have a stable form to work with...

To my understanding, forcing is just sitting down and proactively doing things with your tulpa. Mostly people do so by imagining what they do in a wonderland or a similar virtual place.

But at the very beginning, forcing will mostly involve forming and shaping your tulpa and their personality and other details that you want to give them from the start.

Okidoki! To save you from long rants I'm going to tell you this now. FAQMan's tulpa guide is old, and generally everybody is against hour counts now. They're counter productive.

Secondly! The one day one thing, the next day the next thing is not too shabby of an idea, but maybe halve your list until you 'feel' you can add more stuff. so like narrate all the time and visualise from and traits, and then do the other stuff when you 'feel' ready. It'll help keep your mind focused on different things rather than an information overload where stuff gets confusing.

As to how you know if you 'feel' ready, you just do. I know I did during my early stages, and it should come to you naturally.

Thank you! Since faq man's guide is dated, I was thinking of using the narration only method. Like you just visualize the form and them just narrate to it. Would this work? Theres not really a specific personality I wanna force on my tulpa :3

Not to advertise or anything, but you could always use my guide, since FAQ's is dated~

Everything.

Thanks. I'm glad you think so.

I hope it helps.

Hourcounts just result in expectations. You start looking at other's progress reports and start getting the idea in the back of your head to expect something to happen after X amount of hours, or that you have to put in X amount of hours for Y to happen, ultimately restricting a tulpa and causing them to move at a slower pace.

Hour counts are for measurement. Measurement leads to analysis. Anylisis leads to expectation. Expectations lead to [spoilers]SEBEN MONTHS

slow tulpa progression.

Not to say you can't count something... just don't count something so specific as hours.
