Progressive Rock Otaku July 22, 2013 July 22, 2013 Hey, I'm a new member of the site and I've been forcing my tulpa Maka since June 25th. I haven't gotten any major deviations, just personality growth, which is completely fine. I was just curious to see how and when a tulpa deviates and to ask if it was a necessary step in tulpa development. Thanks to anyone who replies to this! :D "A sound soul dwells within a sound body and a sound mind."
TulpaCouple July 22, 2013 July 22, 2013 Jaden's deviations all are based on form. All those deviations happened fairly early on, as I was not too good at visualization, he took advantage of that time to change and adjust to what he wanted. Since then we have had no deviations. I initially believed his personality had deviated after a few months when he became fully vocal and independent, but after looking back I believe I simply hadn't fully explored all the possibilities of the full personality I had created, and he does in fact match the personality I forced--there is just such a difference between words on paper and an actual person. Giselle had no personality forcing, but her personality matured quickly, from a very girly girl to a much more serious--but still feminine girl. Her form changes very often, but she still considers her original to be her true form. Deviations often happen when the tulpa is sentient and starting to make their own choices, but some tulpas are perfectly fine with how they are.
waffles July 23, 2013 July 23, 2013 We tend to use "deviation" to mean any change unintended by the creator. This includes gradual changes in personality. While it wouldn't be a great sign if your tulpa stayed exactly like they were when you started them, major deviations, like, say, a tulpa changing their form completely, aren't necessary or anything like that.
NeonKnights July 24, 2013 July 24, 2013 I remember wondering about this same thing months ago. I found out that tulpas are completely unpredictable when it comes to (form) deviation. They can deviate whenever, and however many times they want, even if they haven't deviated at all in a long time. For instance, mine just made another form deviation a week ago, and another minor one yesterday, after nearly five months with barely any changes. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
Progressive Rock Otaku July 26, 2013 Author July 26, 2013 Alright I've got a second question. If a tulpa deviates early, and then you never see that deviation again, is it a sign that you were the one responsible for that deviation? On the 6th day with my tulpa, she changed her form completely into what I can best describe as a cross between an aquatic humanoid and an "awakened being" from Claymore (for those unfamiliar: it's basically a monster). Her skin was blue, her fingers were longer, she wasn't wearing any clothes anymore, and she was taller. If I remember correctly this was because I was having trouble visualizing her playing instruments (hence the longer fingers), but the complete form change freaked me out and I told her that. I also asked her if it was her real form, I think I got "no" in response. I haven't seen her in this form since then, and I cant say that I imagined this new form, because it scared me and because it was pretty detailed.
