hagalaz9 August 27, 2013 August 27, 2013 Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and haven't poked around everything just yet. I just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience. I've found that during imposition of my tulpa into my environment I have better interaction with her by "self-imposing". This feels almost like a split in consciousness, where all my senses are transposed to my own imposition. This is easiest when my body is static, eyes open. It's more difficult to impose over distances, so I try to keep close to my body. My tulpa is very receptive to this, and often encourages it. It's a very rewarding experience. Has anyone had a similar experience?
Dr. Faust August 27, 2013 August 27, 2013 So are you imposing yourself to your tulpa? I don't exactly understand what you are doing. From my understanding, you are imagining a doppelgänger of yourself while imagining your tulpa. In which case, I'm not sure a lot of people do this
Linkzelda August 27, 2013 August 27, 2013 I guess in terms of being able to impose a projection of yourself and your tulpa can have some use more in interaction because the host isn't distracted by random and trivial thoughts (which may occur when it's just the host imposing their tulpa consciously). Instead, they just become more intuitive (instinctive) with the environment, to imagine what it would be like to be their tulpa and understanding things a lot better. It's not really too surprising that people would do this actively in passive forcing (using open-eye and passive acknowledge of what occurs with the mind's eye), but OP is probably just doing a more advanced form open-eyed that might be practicing active forcing and active acknowledgement of the mind's eye, see the difference Dr. Faust? Especially if they do this in an environment they can know extensively like the back of their hand, it's more of an -esque feeling to it. hagalaz9 August 27, 2013 Author August 27, 2013 Thank you for the replies! Dr Faust - I wouldn't call it a doppelgänger. I would call it more of a "lucid daydream". I identify more with the visualization during this time like how one identifies with themself in a dream. Linkzelda - I find it easier to interact with my tulpa for the very reasons you describe. I do try to consciously impose her often, but as you said, random and trivial thoughts can distort the visualization. She has even commented on this problem herself, and often encourages me into this other state.
left blank August 27, 2013 August 27, 2013 Yeah, I've definitely done that, but not as frequently as singular 'imposition'. For me it was experienced as an intermediate situation where the internalized paracosm was replaced by the external environment. That said, your description reads as eerily similar to the classic 'out of body experience,' but with focus and intent.
hagalaz9 August 28, 2013 Author August 28, 2013 Envolucris - thanks for the reply, I enjoyed your description of your own experience. Very well put and I believe I've had similar experiences as well. That being said, perhaps you're right, there is an element of being out of body, which may explain the difficulty with distance, at least with eyes open
