whaaat. I use that method to get into a lucid dream. I've been lucid dreaming for about 2 1/2 years now. I used to just go straight into a dream, but for the last year and a half I'd been doing it as you described. As soon as I hit sleep paralysis I attempt to seperate my dream body from my actual body. The reason I do this is because I prefer my lucid dreams to start off as a false-awakening type of thing, where I'm still in my room. It gives me a higher success rate. It's not astral projection. You've been dreaming, bro.

Trust me, it's different. I'm a natural lucid dreamer and have been lucid dreaming since I was a child (albeit sporadically), so I do understand the differences. But as I said, astral projection isn't actually your "soul" leaving your body, it's just a dream that's a step above lucid dreaming. One method I've heard once or twice is to try to have a lucid dream while in a lucid dream in order to enter AP, kind of like Inception. Usually it consists of laying down in a bed, and just closing your eyes and thinking of astral projecting. Apparently you get the same odd feeling eventually, and when you open your eyes in your lucid dream you'll be in an astral projection. Might be worth trying.

When I at least try to astral project, I get random voices like the others. When I try to imagine Pinkie's voice, it usually alters out of place and context. I lay completely still and try to convince myself that I'm AP'ing, but I guess practice just makes perfect. No, I'm not trying to use this as a substitute for forcing, since I don't "force" in the sense of the term anymore, but I've repeatedly felt Pinkie tickling or pushing me when I'd try to AP.

Regarding the Charlotte VS ShyGuy thing, I have one thing to say: C++. Though, ShyGuy used crying niggers, so he gets a +1 for that, or even a ++. Charlotte is not being a hipster; he stands firmly by his views, but somehow seems to make a faggot of himself. That's okay with me, though.

I described how to enter AP via sleep paralysis earlier in the thread, which is the same as WILD until you actually enter sleep paralysis. Instead of closing your eyes to go into WILD, you should both mentally and physically try to sit upright. When I say mentally I mean vividly imagine yourself sitting upright, seeing the perspective change, hearing the sheets rustle, etc. And you shouldn't end up actually sitting upright, so don't physically strain yourself trying to do it, since it can start causing stress-induced hallucinations. After a few tries you should have an indescribably odd feeling when trying to sit upright and you should "leave your body" and will be sitting upright outside of your body. Usually people lose it at this point from excitement so just take a few deep breaths and take it slow. You've just astral projected.

There's a ton of other methods for entering astral projection via sleep paralysis, but this method worked the best for me.

I don't know what the difference between AP and a regular lucid dream is.

When I first realize I'm dreaming, I become self-aware in a dream, at that point, my dream may be dull or it may be colorful, but this doesn't matter a bit. Once I'm self-aware/lucid, I can just start noticing what is going on in my dream, I could try to see more details, pay more attention to the sounds or anything that goes around and the more attention I pay the more realistic it gets. I could then "teleport" anywhere I want to go and do whatever. It will feel incredibly surrealistic. I never considered this being "AP", it's just a routine I do to make lucid dreams really fun. If I really want even more extra realism, I can also teleport myself to my bed and get an OBE and my imaginary/dream body will obey even more rules found the real world because my mind associates real locations with real world physical rules.

Ok I just tend to fall asleep completely now. Does anyone know how to stay awake when trying to go into sleep paralysis?

Perhaps if you have a tv in the room you sleep in you could turn it on for something to focus on, although you shouldn't directly watch it. Other than that I usually just do math problems by visualizing the equation on the ceiling and trying to solve it. But I've never really had much of an issue with staying awake. And there aren't really any special tricks for staying awake that I know of.

uhhhh math, no thanks. I guess I just put on the radio or something.

Or just put on some noise, preferably mine.

Wut? C++? Why C++?
