I was close to meeting my tulpa in a WILD. Has anybody tried this, or with a lucid dream in general? Did it help? I've had no luck with astral projection. How do I move beyond WILDs to get to it?

This attempt at redirecting the thread is a really noble one, Guest. I don't know who you are, but I respect your determination to ignore that the flaming in this thread has completely burnt it to the ground. So I'm with you, let's rebuild.

Can you elaborate on how you might have met your tulpa? Some users have been saying that they'll get random voices (radio chatter) when they're going to sleep that are not from their tulpa. I've had that experience once, but can't confirm whether it was from mine or not. Other than that, I haven't had any contact in my dreams since I started forcing a month back.

I do WILDs. What you have to realise is that people who do "astral projections" do the same method used for WILD.

They're dreaming.

I can't wait til I make more progress with my tulpa, I'm quite good at getting into lucid dreams, and I'm definitely going to experiment with that.

Are you sure? They mention sleep paralysis, humming, and other sorts of phenomenon that I don't get.

Even if it's a purely psychological phenomenon, it's clearly a different one.

This was not a hypnagogic state, but a full-blown WILD (wake induced lucid dream). I was in a mansion (my wonderland) and began trying to find my tulpa. I found a room with a door slightly ajar in which my tulpa was sleeping, but I couldn't preserve the dream long enough to get in there.

I hear random voices during hypnagogic states too, but they're easily distinguishable from what's truly your tulpa speaking.

You do realise that the purpose of WILD is to purposefully keep your mind awake as your body falls asleep, which is also known as "sleep paralysis". What astral projectors tend to do is get up from their body in a dream-state (astral state), where they can see their own body (you can do this too if you do WILD), then transport themselves to whatever they want to see (which also happens in a lucid dream). The difference is that they believe their lucid dreams are some kind of other plane or are connected to reality.

The other phenomena are related to Hypnagogia.

This is mostly correct, but astral projection is definitely different than lucid dreaming. Ignoring the pseudoscientific bullshit about the spiritual and astral plane, I'd say it's a step above lucid dreaming in terms of lucidity. In lucid dreams you never really feel things. It's almost as if you're controlling a camera while in a lucid dream. But with astral projection it is almost parallel to how real being awake is, and you notice the subtle differences in physics and gravity that your brain ignores in lucid dreaming. You're still asleep and dreaming, and is similar to a lucid dream, but I wouldn't say they're the same.

This is very true. I feel that I've come slightly close to AP once, and it was completely different than WILD.

How do I move beyond WILD into AP?

I described how to enter AP via sleep paralysis earlier in the thread, which is the same as WILD until you actually enter sleep paralysis. Instead of closing your eyes to go into WILD, you should both mentally and physically try to sit upright. When I say mentally I mean vividly imagine yourself sitting upright, seeing the perspective change, hearing the sheets rustle, etc. And you shouldn't end up actually sitting upright, so don't physically strain yourself trying to do it, since it can start causing stress-induced hallucinations. After a few tries you should have an indescribably odd feeling when trying to sit upright and you should "leave your body" and will be sitting upright outside of your body. Usually people lose it at this point from excitement so just take a few deep breaths and take it slow. You've just astral projected.

There's a ton of other methods for entering astral projection via sleep paralysis, but this method worked the best for me.

whaaat. I use that method to get into a lucid dream. I've been lucid dreaming for about 2 1/2 years now. I used to just go straight into a dream, but for the last year and a half I'd been doing it as you described. As soon as I hit sleep paralysis I attempt to seperate my dream body from my actual body. The reason I do this is because I prefer my lucid dreams to start off as a false-awakening type of thing, where I'm still in my room. It gives me a higher success rate. It's not astral projection. You've been dreaming, bro.
