Hi, I'm a new member and have a question.

I've been working on a tulpa for a month or two now, my friend (who has one tulpa currently) has said several times that I have every single advantage to making a tulpa, visualizing is beyond easy for me, I'm extremely spritual, etc. (I'm serious, making a wonderland took me 3-5 minutes) but something seems to be missing from the tulpa I'm making. I do not know if he's sentient, not sentient or somewhere imbetween. When I ask him to...umm surprise me for example, he stops and I have to start thinking for a split second for him to say something. I've even tryed, when I speak for him, using my own voice for him so I know it's actually him when he uses his own but there is still something missing, he just doesn't seem like him. I even hear occasional "nagging" from him here in there during the day but still.

U guys mind helping?

Sorry for the duel post, post answers on here please and ignore the other

Some young tulpas are unable to do the "surprise me" trick until they have developed some independence. Quite a few of my friends have complained that they "freeze up" without their human's attention. I wouldn't worry about it too much, as it is something every tulpa goes through when starting out. They all grew out of it and so will your tulpa.

BTW, "Hello!" from me to your tulpa. Welcome to the community. I hope you have a wonderful and rewarding life. There are many beautiful things to see on this Earth and some of them are so amazing they put even wonderlands to shame. When you are stronger you will be able to talk with other tulpas via chat - just as I do.

Be well you two.

Thanks a lot, man, from both of us. Good luck to you too.

That and it really does take time. There are a lot of people on here that have been only forcing for a couple months, think they have a fully sentient tulpa, but the truth is, they don't. It's nothing against them. They aren't making things up or role playing or anything, a lot of people just seem to have misconceptions on assuming sentience from the beginning. Assuming sentience from the beginning doesn't actually make the tulpa a fully sentient being from the start. It simply helps the it become sentient a bit faster.

I've recently entered my third month and I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. Sometimes Bud feels like he has more of his own mind, and sometimes he doesn't. The "surprise me" method has never worked for us either. I find that Bud always seems to surprise me when I'm barely paying attention to him.

I suggest doing exactly what Nobillis said and not worry about it too much. And also, welcome! I'm looking forward to seeing you post around more ^_^

I'm sure it varies without a solid cut off sentience required time.. wow, bad phrasing.

My lip hurts.

My tulpa became sentient, for sure, in maybe a little over a month, though I had made other attempts over the span of nearly a year, surely speeding up my progress. You're expecting too much too quickly, relax, and enjoy your stay.
