Kaz with a K October 16, 2013 October 16, 2013 Ok, so I've had a Tulpa for about 3 months-ish, and this problem started recently, like 2 weeks tops. It started at school one day. I was working on stuff during a free period, and this idea was sort of suggested in my head that if I finished my work really quickly I could reward myself by being able to do something. I finished my work, only to realize I had no memory of what it was I was going to do. I didn't remember if I was going to read a book, draw, or what. It had completely skipped out of my mind. And it's happened a handful of times since then. Like, only half an hour ago, I was about to write something, I got distracted, and poof, it disappeared completely. I wonder, has this happened to anyone else/does anyone have any ideas if this is tulpa related, or just my forgetfulness?:@ Tulpa: Adryan Form: Anthro wolf-ish Stage: *sighs loudly* Age: Looks 17, is actually 1 1/2 “Human beings can always be relied on to assert, with vigor, their god-given right to be stupid” -Dean Koontz “In the end, I worry that my arrogance shall destroy us all” -Brandon Sanderson
Bacn October 16, 2013 October 16, 2013 It's a perfectly natural phenomenon that you're paying an unusual amount of attention to due to your circumstances. Most people do the same thing. When I first got into lucid dreaming I felt that I was experiencing deja vu more often than usual. Then, after a month or so I forgot about it and realized I hadn't had that feel as often as before, despite being just as involved in lucid dreaming as I ever had. Also had the feeling that I was mistaking things in the corner of my eye for people more often than usual because of my tulpa. Time passed, feeling went away, tulpa still messing with my head as much as ever. Don't worry about it. You're perfectly 'kay.
Shui October 16, 2013 October 16, 2013 What Bacn said. It's confirmation bias. You've forgotten hundreds of things in the past, but now that you're working with mental training, you're more likely to notice when you forget things. It's like how it's so amazing when you're thinking of someone, and they call right then -- but it's totally not amazing when you remember that you think about hundreds of people without them calling you, and hundreds of people call you without you thinking about them. In both instances, it's only interesting because your mind has a tendency to forget all the times when it wasn't interesting. "'Real isn't how you are made,' said the Skin Horse. 'It's a thing that happens to you.'"
