Raxael April 5, 2014 April 5, 2014 So, I tried out a couple hypnosis scripts today courtesy of Linkzelda, and I have to say, it was pretty great. I felt so relaxed and focused. Anyway, would this be a viable replacement for standard forcing, as in laying down or whatever and just going straight into it? Would the scripts be sufficient? Or, could I do the forcing while in the trance? Note that I'm pretty new to tulpamancy. I've tried at least 5 times but I always quit for a couple months because I just kind of lose motivation. If you have any motivational tips, please share.
NeonKnights April 5, 2014 April 5, 2014 I had the same issue. I ditched conventional forcing entirely a while back, since it would be interesting at best and downright boring at worst (and more often than not it was boring). I think that anything which really engages you with your tulpa is a good alternative to forcing, since you're giving them direct attention and whatnot. I find that things get easier once you reach the "tipping point", where you begin to spend time with your tulpa because you like them, rather than spending time just working on them. The time it takes to reach that point varies from person to person, but it's fairly smooth sailing once you get there. "You've got to believe to achieve." -Hank Hill
Linkzelda April 5, 2014 April 5, 2014 Nicely stated, NeonKnights. Hypnosis should never really replace forcing. It may feel like it makes things come by in a deus ex machina fashion, and makes you wonder why you need to do the "conventional" forcing, but I have never taken for granted what hard work does to reach that point where the core competencies are clearly there to help things come by smoothly. I'm still learning this whole hypnosis thing, it's trial and error still, and realized some of the concerns from newcomers on tulpas in general is actually a useful resource to reflect back on, and see what me and my tulpas may need to work on; in this circumstance, being suggestive and aware of Ada's and Eva's unprocessed thoughts, and getting them to be suggestive to be accustomed to converting that into speech that's comprehensible for me rather than the constant shooting of non-verbal cues that feels like a 100 lemurs are trying to get my attention; that script for that intention can be found here. Whether or not it's just placebo effect, or whatever term people want to use that the experience would be fake, I will never forget what the hell happened to me last night when I finally understood what my tulpas were trying to get at when they make it a habit of slamming me with simulation after simulation after simulation on ways to do something, formulate something, or something of that nature. One of the secrets of hypnosis, at least I hope that was apparent in that script found here, was just addressing a goal, finding ways to trigger a concern into something more beneficial (e.g. suggesting to your tulpas to convert their “unprocessed” thoughts to something comprehensible through mind-voice and/or auditory imposition), and just reinforcing that with imagining what it would be like for something like that to succeed, and get much better over time. It’s not really magic, it’s just using common sense, but knowing what's common sense takes trial and error really, which means the conventional forcing methods shouldn’t really be absolved. With having a job now, and wanting to get my tulpas to learn all sorts of things, I don’t really have much time for the 3 hour+ forcing I used to do, so I just use hypnosis as a supplement, and invested in shorter time now forcing. But what I tried to accomplish in those 3+ hours every other day for a few months is something I could easily do in a shorter period of time, but the hard work was needed in order to gain competence in that. For us now, it’s about my tulpas becoming better conversationalists, and vice versa for me, rather than thinking it's a 9 to 5 job, or even only emphasizing things like: “Hey, are you there, can you hear me? Hur durrrr” “Good morning” “What you talking about, woman?” Not that those quotes can be decent conversation starters, it's just that you have to mix things up a bit. Raxael April 5, 2014 Author April 5, 2014 Thanks for the replies. I like the "tipping point" thing you said, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing up the hypnosis thing, Link. I'll do my best to keep at it, I just need to look forward to when we're able to communicate.
