Bjarke Inn Havardr April 17, 2015 April 17, 2015 I started making Opal when spring break started. I had enough time to force at least two hours a day, and do so happily. Now that school is back in, and with teachers stressing about finals so much you can pratically cut the tension with a knife, i don't have time to force at all in the day. I still talk to Opal (even though she doesn't talk back) whenever i am not focusing, but nothing like sitting down and pouring all of my energy into it. I spend at most an hour a day doing this "passive forcing". I have been thinking about just stopping, stop attempting to active force until summer break in 3 months. I would still talk to her whenever I had free time, but i wouldn't make an active effort to talk. I would, of course, start up again when summer started, but it wouldn't surprise me if a whole day went without more than a 10 minute talk time in total. Should i wait until summer, or would doing so make a horrible host or hurt Opals feelings?
bunny-boi-lover April 17, 2015 April 17, 2015 I would strongly advise against waiting until summer. It could harm Opal and if you give her too little attention, she might even dissipate (not meaning to scare you). I do a lot of passive forcing, and I've seen it as being just as beneficial as active forcing. As long as you're talking and giving thought to Opal, she'll be fine, though you may see a slow in her progress. I would suggest finding the time to sit down with Opal and explain your absence to her if you haven't already so she knows what's going on. I'm sure she'll understand and will find ways of working with you and expressing her presence. :) "Jesus Pickles!" ~ Edwin reacting to pretty much every jump scare in a horror movie Avatar was made by me using a base. Luminesce April 17, 2015 April 17, 2015 You can keep a tulpa active enough by just occasionally sending a few thoughts their way, moreso if you get them to respond. Active forcing isn't required, it's just better for progress. If you can only do bits and pieces of passive forcing, when you start active forcing again they might be a little faded (actions/voice are a bit foggy), but it'll be easier than starting your progress all over again. A tulpa won't disappear per se from lack of attention, but the neural connections in your brain fade with disuse and it'll take a lot of work to make them active again. Tulpamancing is like visualization is like dream recall is like - exercising. If you use your muscles intensively, they'll get stronger. If you use them a bit, they should stay about the same. If you don't use them for a long time, they'll get weaker, and you'll have to make the progress over. But that doesn't mean your tulpa will disappear, it just means they'll have a hard time communicating/being visualized/etc., depending on how long it's been and how little practice you've had. And if that happens, you just have to spend time making back the progress you've lost. Not the end of the world, but nicer to avoid. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.
