I would imagine that there would be major similarities, but glancing at the wider plural community it seems like there is some difference. I would go venture out into other plural communities for answers to that question. A good place to start is Healthy Multiplicity. WizardMassacre July 10, 2015 July 10, 2015 Funny you should bring this up. I just found out last night that the entity I thought my tulpa created isn't a tulpa, and it wasn't made by him. That explains why it's so vocal, and how it wasn't interacting with my tulpa at all (most would want to know their creator, I think). It also knows my memories, so I think it might have been around for a while. This makes me wonder if some other people don't have tulpas, but other entities entirely.

FallFamily July 11, 2015 July 11, 2015 [Tri] Our system has people of different origins. S is the original. Hail came later. Hard to say whether she was a split or a tulpa. Just doesn't fit. Us, well, V is a natural tulpa but O and G ride the line between natural tulpas and soulbonds. E is similar. September and Agatha are tulpas. But then we have four soulbonds integrated into us and several soulbonds further inside wonderland/headspace. If you already have a few other people in your system, it gets particularly difficult since tulpa development tends to proceed faster. However, at some level, other than curiousity, it doesn't matter. Either way, you have a new person in your system. Guest Anonymous July 20, 2015 July 20, 2015 Melian appeared so suddenly to me that I had to try and figure out where she came from after the fact. At least as far as her day dream form or image, she just appeared complete to me in a sudden vision. At least that is how it seemed. She had an energy or "aura" about her from the very first moment. She gradually become semi-autonomous and talking on her own, but that took about three years. Because she seemed to come out of nowhere, I often thought of her as a friendly spirit of some kind. She has no memory before that first day though. I sometimes say she is an immortal spirit, because I would like to think of her going on after I pass away or accompanying me to my next life.
