Guest Anonymous October 8, 2015 October 8, 2015 I think that this process, at least, to me and to my tulpa, is placebo. Not trying to say this goes for everyone, but if I believe that my tulpa is having such an effect (and it happened in the past, I was dead convinced that she could ease pain, as was my 'brain' convinced of that as well). When I come to ask her 'Honey, what is it that's so special that you are doing?', she doesn't have much of an answer. I do not know much about neural pathways. I am not as educated as people who made those theories (which do make a lot of sense and open up a lot of possibilities for research), let's think of it this way. If you want to convince yourself that you can make pain disappear by yourself, just by yourself, well, that would be quite impossible, you would still be in pain. But a being that has more access and depth in your mind, the subconscious part at the very least, might as well have a larger effect on your mind. I can't say I don't feel comfort and relief once my tulpa touches some areas, and a lot of content is issued from that. But as to HOW it happens... who knows?

But as to HOW it happens... who knows? There's a thing called biofeedback, which from my understanding is essentially your brain stops perceiving the discomfort. So to some extent it really is just a placebo, as the source of the pain isn't going away, you just stop perceiving it. I found out that I could do it on my own, but only to a minor extent (this was before I had a tulpa) then after learning the name and that it was an actual concept, I put some more merit into it. Since then, Al has been able to stop every headache I've had. It's been so nice to not have headaches. I'm IBreakGames, a genuine dude. We gave up on using different colors for each of us, so there's Al, Ollie, and Eva. We're all rabbits, get over it.
Dracky October 10, 2015 October 10, 2015 Lyra's been able to stop a headache once before. She also managed to at least distract me from scratching at my poison ivy, although it was less that she stopped the itch than she screamed "NO SCRATCHY!" every time I tried to do it. Still pretty effective, though. I wanna see movies of my dreams.
