the effects of prog on feminization in trans women are very poorly understood; this is firmly the "voodoo which doctor" side of hrt. but there is some evidence that taking it too early might harm breast development, and there is anecdotal evidence that taking it after breast development through e alone might help breast development, but there have been no properly scientific studies on it afaik. the only reason why it is commonly prescribed is because, once breast development has more or less concluded, it doesn't have any effects that are generally considered harmful, so it's not so bad even if it does nothing for breast growth. but if and when you start on it, don't get your hopes up, because there is a very real chance that it does nothing

Thank you TB!!! I still promise you that we'll do Cute Girl Stuff together some day!!!

I don't like taking higher of a dose of something while still reporting back to the doctor prescribing the lower dose, because it's feeding them poisoned info about how the treatment could work for people. But doubly so if Bre says it's okay to mention it (probably mention you wanted to last time but were too nervous, and are being guided by a trans friend who has gone through this already - and feel free to maintain that you're confident in continuing to do so if that seems in question)
-
I am genuinely hearing this for the first time just now. I'll have to think about this and do research, thanks for the information Bre!

chances of you being dropped because of diying are practically zero. doctors prefer you to take medication under medical supervision, so if you start diying, then it becomes even more important to them that you keep you as a patient. also, i would not recommend starting prog so early. the reasoning behind taking prog is generally that it helps with breast growth, but taken for that usage it should only be taken when breast growth through e alone starts to stall out, because it is supposed to sort of initiate the 'end stages' of breast development. idk if you have been tracking your breast growth (although you should), but regardless, breast development takes years. you shouldn't even be thinking about prog until you're two years in, and even that is too early for most people

I'm really glad everything is working out so far! 😊

PP doctors lol and nice i'm glad to hear

Whew! Appointment done! I feel like a bit of a jerk because I didn't mention to her that I now have these extra hormones I bought. I got cold feet and was a coward, I admit. She wants to increase my dose by 50%, not the nearly 200% increase I would get from the other vial. But she mentioned progesterone as a possibility in 3 months and I would like to go on that, and I don't want to mess up my chances of being prescribed it by going rogue. But other than that she said I could be at normal female levels by September/October, and she said I was "radiating" during the appointment so that made me really happy to hear! (I was definitely in a very good mood, I feel like PP doctors have to deal with somber and sad stuff like abortions a lot so this must be a welcome change of pace when they get someone like me being happy about transitioning!) She also said the next 3 months is when I could really see the exciting changes start to kick in!!!!

thanks shaula and good luck chloe

I know, unfortunately. Times are rough right now. We'll be right there to help in any way. 😊 (By liking and stuff, we definitely don't have enough popularity to do anything, lol.) Awesome! 😊 I think it's super cool seeing animals come back to life. Next up, I say any small reptile or amphibian. Edit: yay! It didn't take a whole hour, lol.

Good news, the intake person came online at 2:50pm and went over all the basic info so now I am waiting on the doctor! Last time it was like 10-20 minutes wait between the times so hopefully it won't be more than that this time.

oh, neat. i hope that goes well i hope they know what they are doing too though. reviving an extinct animal that has been extinct for a while can sometimes be a bad thing if the environment has changed such that the environment has no place for its niche any longer. though whoever is trying to do that has probably thought about that and knows more than i do i guess
-
In happier news, they are trying to de-extinct the Moa, a massive flightless bird native to New Zealand that was driven to extinction by humans. They've only been extinct for 600 years or so, so there may be enough genetic material to make it work! 😁

Yeah he is using ICE as his SA/SS basically, or at least he is attempting to. It's going to get pretty scary--there could concievably be a time where left-leaning cities or states refuse to go along with certain Trump policies and Trump orders ICE or someone else to go in there and that could be the flashpoint for some kind of armed showdown (I don't want to be dramatic and say "Civil War", but we might be going there sometime). Some say he is doing this stuff with ICE in LA for the explicit purpose of provoking such a thing. Guess they want to make Los Angeles the epicenter of the upcoming civil war, sorry for anyone who lives there.

it's hard to imagine it doesn't. i rely massively on medicaid and food stamps and it butchered both of those programs. but i hope i make it by somehow. all the more reason to double down on drawing more and more and uploading and interacting with other drawers and trying to build some sort of brand with content creation so I hopefully have an reliable living income that makes losing medicaid or foodstamps not matter. i just am not sure how fast i can achieve that... thanks for the hug though hope you're right but it doesn't look good to me. trump was blocked from a lot of his more insane ideas first administration due to those reasons, but he made sure to fill all the positions he could with loyalists this time. and they just keep ignoring court orders, which has revealed another flaw in our system. which was the assumption that the parts of government would respect each other's balance of powers. courts don't seem to have a good way to enforce trump's administration to listen to them as far as I can tell. there are some things they can do, but i haven't heard of any of them doing anything like it yet, like deputizing someone to arrest them, or freezing their assets. but other than that, it seems they can be ignored without much recourse and i just saw a video of the military in los angeles marching into a park with children and stuff playing just to intimidate the populice to remind them who is in charge i guess. and intimidating the press by pointing weapons at them and ICE is now more funded than the marines which is crazy, and they do so many horrible and illegal things with 0 recourse. So Trump certainly has an army and police force that will just do whatever he says. I just don't know what percent will follow his orders and what percent won't
-
Though they are in decline, I don't think the American institutions are so far-gone that they couldn't prevent Trump from doing something like that. If you have enough people in positions of authority refusing to go along with illegal orders (Legislatures, Courts, law enforcement, military), or just masses of people getting in the way, Trump or anyone else in his position would be rendered impotent. Edit: 45 minutes ugh wtf

I really hope that bill doesn't effect you all too much. ༼ つ ◕‿◕ ༽つ

unless he cancels elections or finds some way to run a 3rd time and rig it, or rig it to get the continuation of his administration in general, which more and more people fear any of those are increasingly real possibilities i don't think the US is immuned to such a thing. germany was democratic before hitler was elected as well. most dictatorships were originally democratic then transition to open dictatorship or democratic dictatorship where they are nominally democratic but not in practice the only good side is i think most people would be so against it they might not let it happen but will have to see. with the stuff done so far it feels like it should be the 3rd year already but it's somehow only been 6 months. going to be a crazy 4 years

Just 1289 Days, 22 hours, 34, minutes, and 55 seconds left of the big dum dum Edit: 35 minutes late and counting
-
crazy and yeah i'm still worried on if i'm going to lose my medicaid because I don't meet work requirements. i hope i meet an exception. idk if it has the same exceptions foodstamps has even if i keep medicaid, it probably won't pay for care the same as it used to because how can they if they cut 880 billion dollars from it, which is most of its funding i think
-
I also have to wonder if they're still going to be around for much longer because of the effects of the big dummy's big ugly bill. Still waiting btw
-
hope so. a 2 hour appointment is nothing i've ever seen before. i've never really had a video appointment person be more than a few minutes late but i don't know anything about planned parenthood
-
Half an hour might be a reasonable guess! I took off all afternoon from work because I didn't know how long this would take. Hopefully it'll be wrapped up by 4 because I'm meeting a friend in the evening!
