Pioneer11 October 28, 2015 October 28, 2015 Recently me and my Tulpa have been watching some horrors and thrillers to get into the Halloween spirit. His tastes are rather dark, preferring disturbing, cynical movies with no happy ending. He mostly can’t stand block busters like Avengers. Even though his current form is modelled after a Harry Potter character, he loathes the movies, especially those Yates directed. He loves deep dialogues, haunting scores and complex characters. He really liked “Audition”, a cult Japanese horror. He quite enjoys the heroine (he calls her that) and mostly agrees with her logic. He also likes “Stoker”, another great movie with Nicole Kidman in it. He says it’s an acceptable love story (read: it’s not a love story). It’s directed by Park Chan-wook, who is famous for his Vengeance trilogy. You might know him for Oldboy. Another instant favorite was “Confessions” (Kokuhaku). It’s a psychological thriller, narrating the vengeance of a teacher against two of her students. It plays like a Shakespearean tragedy. Both the script and the cinematography are outstanding. There’s also a fabulous song by Radiohead in it, Last Flowers (here's a somewhat spoilery video featuring the song). So what are your Tulpa tastes in movies? Anything you both recommend? I cited dark movies because that’s what he enjoys, but it could be anything at all. “Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” [progress report]

I also like the Grudge as well since the first time I watched it Insanity115 could feel me sitting right next to her for the first time.

sushi November 4, 2015 November 4, 2015 Movies related to Imaginary Worlds/thoughtforms that inspire me Bridge to Tarabithia Never Ending Story Never Ending Story II Ruby Sparks Try Drop Dead Fred and Harvey. I think you'll like them. Also, look into the roleplaying game Changeling: The Dreaming. (Not Changeling: The Lost -- that's a completely different game.) (Not Changeling: The Lost -- that's a completely different game.) Oh but we do love Harvey! It is a classic. But the movie is about a Pooka not a tulpa. Harvey is more of a spirit than an imaginary friend. Drop Dead Fred is disturbing. We have never tried Changeling: The Dreaming. We will have to google it. :-)
