[Various] Forming my first Tulpa, and I'm not quite sure if I'm really doing good?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if there's things that my tulpa is doing that are ordinary to do while they are forming/young/new/whatever the word is or not. I'm new to this, so can somebody give me insight?

  • All of a sudden my tulpa randomly just started sounding vaguely like Markiplier, despite being female. I think we settled it, but I can't be sure myself... Is it normal for a forming tulpa to just pick up on a host's past knowledge and the like, and attempt use that information for themselves?
  • They seem awfully curious about things. I'm bad at describing things, but I think that they have the idea. Not sure if this is them being sentient, or just a similar situation to the first situation I mentioned.
  • Do certain host reactions spark a reaction from a tulpa? I've noticed she'll pop up to comfort me if I get anxious enough...
  • What is tulpish? I've seen it mentioned on the wiki, and I assume that as the gibberish spoken by a forming tulpa once it starts trying to form sentences, but, I can't figure that out...

Sorry if these are all very obvious answers, but I really have no clue what I'm doing. Like I said, I'm a newbie to this stuff.

Host: Cam (that's me!)

Age: Keeping that disclosed.

Appearance: Keeping that disclosed, too.

Tulpa: Toree (we're still working on the name; i'm bad at names)

Age: At least 3 days old (made her a tulpa on December 3rd, 2015)

Appearance: An anthro Luxray from pokemon with red fur instead of blue. A bit on the chubby side, and also rather tall. Wears robes a lot.

1. I'd say that was just an intrusive thought. When having a tulpa, you're gonna have to differentiate between what you imagine her saying and what she actually says, since both come from the mind. It's really up to you to come to the conclusion of whether you were just imagining her saying that or if she did. Though it's not unheard of to just up and about change their voice, as I do it occasionally.

2. Again, you're going to have to decide if it was them or not. The community will tell you to believe it was your tulpa, but there's a limit to how much you can believe. I'd say to just take it as your tulpa, but don't at the same time. It doesn't really matter, it'll get easier to differ between later on. That's what I did, anyway.

3. Yes, that could very well be her.

4. Tulpish is when your tulpa speaks in the form of raw thoughts and emotions rather than words. Some tulpas decide to use this as their form of communication.

I'd recommend you think nothing of the responses you get from her at this stage. Loosely believe it's your tulpa, and over time you'll have more confidence. If my good-for-nothing host made it this far, you can too!

I'm not going to listen to you guys since you are all probably just talking to yourself and don't really have a tulpa like me.

1. Ah. So tulpas can shapeshift and voicebend? That explained why soon after I posted this she somehow looked like Michael Rosen. (Don't ask.)

2. I KINDA think it's her? Not sure. I do know what a meme is, yet I think she MIGHT have tried asking what a meme was. Probably just parroting though. Not quite sure. I don't understand much of these terms if you cannot tell yet. I don't wanna doubt her, though. I've heard that kinda makes a barrier.

3. I'd assume so. She always shows up at those moments.

4. I've heard that term tossed around as well; what are "raw thoughts"?

Yes. I don't know if all tuppers can, but I know many can.

I can change into whatever I want, for example.

(She never does, though.)

Yeah, doubt is like a poison.

Rina and I were lucky enough to get into our current situation through a bunch of lucky coincidences, with me having no doubts left in my mind.

But in general the following goes: Try to trust it was your tupper, as long as it isn't completely ridiculous to assume so.

Doubt really is a poison here.

3. I'd assume so. She always shows up at those moments.

Yeah. Depending on how good you are at imposition (or if, like Rina, your tupper does all the work for that, which the two of us call projection), your tupper can be rather damn free in how and when it appears around you.

So that might very well be her.

4. I've heard that term tossed around as well; what are "raw thoughts"?

That's when your tupper doesn't tell you something in words, but makes you feel or know something instead.

Rina and I sometimes do it when I proxy her into the forums (which is to say, quote what she dictates); in that case, instead of dictating a part of a sentence to me, she will just have me know about that part.

AG & Rina

Answering your questions in order

  1. Tulpas, in general but not always individual tulpas, can change their voice. Same goes for form. Now, like others have said, her change in voice could be an intrusive thought. But it could be her. Did you ask her about it? It is possible she really likes the voice, or is trying out very different voices to get a feel for voices before picking one, or something else. Asking her could help elucidate the answer and also determine whether the change was an intrusive thought or not. As for a female tulpa using a male voice, that doesn't seem odd, really. I mean, Tri (all female by the way), has a very deep voice, one deeper than most males (though their voice is surprisingly feminine despite the pitch).
  2. Could be either. But regardless, it is not a bad thing. Her curiosity is an opportunity to talk to her a ton. Tell her about the things she is curious in. Even look up more information on a few things and talk to her about it. It is a great excuse for forcing, and it very good forcing in many ways because it is educational and she is guiding it through what she is curious about. Also, do remember one thing. Tulpas don't necessarily have perfect access to the hosts knowledge and/or memory in the beginning (and sometimes ever), so there might be gaps in her knowledge she wants filled. But even for tulpas who do have perfect access, some can't connect to the experience of living outside at first and thus don't necessarily get things at first. Also, curiosity is a healthy thing.
  3. That is common, both for young tulpas and older tulpas.
  4. Simply communication by transfer of thoughts, images, etc. without speaking or gesturing or writing it inside and then you detecting it. It is a common form of communication for tulpas. Some prefer it even and have no interest in becoming vocal (I know of two developed tulpas, including one of mine, who prefer tulpish and thus don't speak).

1. Though I'm not sure if it was puppeting, she said she "found it". I think she refers to my memories is basically a box in an empty void.

2. I'll try to do that.

3. Thanks for that answer. (I really cannot reply to this one well, can I?)

4. Alrighty.
