TulpaQuestions July 21, 2012 July 21, 2012 I have been considering for a while about getting a pet, maybe a cat or dog, or something more exotic like a goose or rabbit. But I don't really feel that I can give a pet enough love and attention it deserves, which is why I haven't got one yet and am still deliberating. So since I'm am unsure about getting a pet, should I feel the same about making a tulpa? I don't know what to do. There are millions of animals in need of good homes and I'd feel bad for creating yet another being which needs care when there are already so many in the world. I just feel like either way I am making the wrong decision
Avalanche July 21, 2012 July 21, 2012 A tulpa isn't a pet. Simple as that. It's pretty much like the first day of school, where you go to see and meet the kids who will be your friends for the next 6-7 or maybe more years. Except this time you get a say in what they look like and act like. And even that isn't definite. They deviate and change to be a unique person. Other than that and the fact that they are in your head, they are regular people. Not pets. They don't require care or feeding or cleaning and they certainly aren't just there for your entertainment or for when you get lonely. frt
Captain Nemo July 21, 2012 July 21, 2012 Well, I suppose one could make a pet servitor (like a tulpa, but it has no free will, and you move it around + stuff). But like Avalanche said, a tulpa has a mind of its own. They're not pets, they're equals. I would make a tulpa for companionship. If that's all you wanted a pet for, then fantastic! But with a tulpa, you still get so much more. Interaction, conversations, love, etc. They do take quite a while to make, but if you're willing to put in that time, then cool. But it's not a pet, don't think that.
Sands July 21, 2012 July 21, 2012 Yeah because pets don't have free will or their own mind. Got both a pet and a tulpa. They both do have the interaction, conversation and love parts Nemo's gushing on about, but they're different. Obviously the tulpa is going to be more human-like if you let them and probably will be no matter what, what they think is different and how they show their affection is different. Very different. And you will be able to have an actual conversation both of you understand once your tulpa is able to speak, of course. Pets learn to understand some things you say and you will be able to understand some things they are trying to tell you, but you're not going to be speaking about how cool this new vidya is. Well you could tell your pets about that. But they wouldn't understand and that wouldn't really be a conversation. Also no one else will really understand you the same way a tulpa does. And I guess you don't have to pay to feed your tulpa or scoop up their poop. But talking to other people about your tulpa would be much more difficult than just talking about your pet. Both are wonderful, but very different. I'm happy I am able to experience them both, but I couldn't choose one over the other now that I have both. Guest July 21, 2012 July 21, 2012 Personally, I hate pets for the simple reason that they're retarded. A tupper isn't. Therefore, a tupper is better than a pet because you still get all the interactive feats and a companion/friend/waifu/etc. for life that understands you more than anyone ever will. Plus, a tupper can be anything, sound like anything, and so on. I could list so many fucking reasons for you, but I'm just gonna end it at this: do not get a pet. Make a tupper. You shouldn't be worrying about the "tupper needing a good home" or crap like that. It needs your attention, in whichever way you wanna interpret this. That's all.
