My previous thread was 'do names affect your tulpa's personality?'

Now to ask a related question.

We all should know that colors have archetypal meanings, as well as measurable psychological effects on people http://www.cracked.com/article_20039_5-crazy-ways-colors-red-blue-control-your-life.html

Have you observed, say, your tulpa's mood brightening if they wear yellow, or something of that nature, or that their personality matches their default coloration/clothing? (Did you do that intentionally? Why or why not? Have you chosen opposing traits on purpose or accidentally? Does that ever cause a rift or conflict or itch in your mind?)

Okay so I'm not implying anything metaphysical here to be clear, but yes we have colors that represent our 'energy' so to speak ohgodit'snotmetaphysicsIswearthough

We use a symbolic visualization method thing to switch, which is moving an energy-silhouette of our bodies into or out of the physical body, and our energies are associated with certain colors yeah. Mine's turquoise-aquamarine. They're like our favorite colors generally speaking, but also colors associated with us usually, like Flan is red and Tewi is pink, and Reisen's violet. And more to answer your question, our colors (some anyway) have changed with our.. mindset/personality changes too. Don't know how to word that. It's like they change with our moods, but our very long-term moods, not day to day moods. Tewi's pink is now lighter than it was before for the past year or two. Mine was always like it is I think. Hey actually, they're the same colors we used to type with on Reisen's account before we got our own. Anyways Lumi's is less dark (blue) than it used to be too. I think Reisen has been light violet for years, but maybe she was more purple a long time ago? And even though Flan's changed I think she's just always been scarlet. Scarlet herself is a darker red. And Sylvia is.. silver? See-through silver? She doesn't really have an energy like we do because she's a servitor-tulpa, but she is literally silver colored with her hair and dress so I will count that.

That it? I think so. So I don't think the colors made our personalities, almost the opposite really. My color's my color because it's a mix of blue for rain and green for nature stuff, it's the color that makes me feel the most comfortable I guess. Maybe that's what really decides our colors, how comfortable they feel to us. You know, our favorite colors align with that, so that makes sense.

(Except Lumi's favorite colors are blue and violet since Reisen came along. Ooo, he likes her a lot! Violet ain't even his color at all but he likes purple stuff now, that's funny.)

Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.

I think being happy and having fun makes life worth living, so spreading happiness is my number one goal!

Not sure of colors affect my personality, but I am obsessed with purple and violet. Those colors appear in almost all of my art and are a frequent feature of my clothing. I do think there is a bit of a connection to the fact that blue and pink make a purplish color, blue for boy, pink for girl, together as one make purple. Purple is the color favored by the LGTB community along with rainbows, which I also adore.

I consider myself bisexual, my host is heterosexual. Together we consider ourselves a de facto transgender bigender system because we are blended into a median system. So the colors purple and violet are symbolic.

I'm not sure if it has any bearing on personality, but Jamie's obsessed with the color maroon.

Unfathomable. You know, without fathom.

Til you're higher then the clouds

I can see it in your soul

If you only knew your worth

The kinda love that you deserve

Every piece of you makes me whole[/align]

I think we consider Cecilia's "theme" color to be green, since her dress is green, and it was kind of her choice the color. Though, I'm not sure if this affect her personality. But well, maybe yes, because green gives me a conforting sensation, a mix of good things like love, correctness and something to rely on, and don't know what more.

Actually, what I really think is that the color affecting the personality may be true sometimes, but, at least in my case, it can be the opposite, the personality affect the tulpa's "color". I mean, the personality comes before than the color, since colors can be linked to personalities as what Lucylin described. (Or actually they come together, don't know).

Hum... I also think personality is not a word that fits very well in what these things mean... "mindset/personality changes too. Don't know how to word that. It's like they change with our moods, but our very long-term moods, not day to day moods", this is a better way to put it.

Cecilia is the only tulpa, is about my age (in form), changes it once in a while and just enjoys to see the circus catch fire :P

I go by Ephemeral because it's a nice word, but maybe just Ephe is shorter. A guy who likes doing math and programming and dreaming.

Gosh that sounds an awful lot like an aura doesn't it? Turquoise-aquamarine is such a pretty color! You will find that in my art as well.

Green is the color of Spring and of life! Nice choice. Is there a specific shade of green she likes?

This is certainly true with me with the colors purple and violet!

Again I am reminded of auras. Are we sure there isn't something to that with tulpas? I have an aura, at least an imaginary one anyways. I can see it. It sparkles.

Gosh that sounds an awful lot like an aura doesn't it?

Well, I don't consider auras 'metaphysical', but based on the body's electrical system, so.

For example- have you ever seen a red haze over your vision when angry? They've done studies confirming that happens to people, and they theorize that red is associated with x, y, or z during our evolution, but I also think people see their own auras because they get stronger when your emotions rise.

This is certainly true with me with the colors purple and violet!

Yes, totally, it can go the other way around, too- your brain is going to associate colors with feelings, so it only makes sense that in 'translating' your tulpa's feelings, colors could change to reflect that. Colors could be a 'dialect' of 'tulpish' just like music can be.

For people who think visually, anyway. Unlike myself.

Not necessarily an actual aura (we have a hard enough time getting people to consider host's auras with data already gathered) but as I said above, colors can come as shorthand for feelings. Who knows, maybe one day we'll invent sensitive enough equipment to record a really strong tulpa's aura, too.

Has anyone gone to get that tested, I wonder?

Green is the color of Spring and of life! Nice choice. Is there a specific shade of green she likes?

Also the heart chakra, which directly deals with love and uplifting . . .

Worth noting that chakras follow the main physiological nerve/electrical nodes of your body as well.

Well, actually we think more about a green like the one in my signature, in her name.

These things of colors and auras and personalities and music and whatever being associated, used in tulpish too reminds me the concept of Ideasthesia, which is basically associating ideas or concepts with sensory sensations.

Also the heart chakra, which directly deals with love and uplifting . .

Hum, didn't know it, pretty cool.

Also, I don't know, I feel that "aura" seems more like the personality/mindset thing traduced in brightness and color, not exactly the thing itself... don't know a better word for that though, so I think aura might be better.
