Alrighty, my first question is about what it is exactly, that you're suppose to do while visualizing. Do you just keep picturing your tulpa over and over, ever part of them, until you can see them in vivid detail, in your mind? Because that's what I've been doing.

Now, I have major troubles, visualizing. Whenever I do, it is VERY vague, and I can hardly see it. I notice that when I'm not concentrating, I don't even see in detail. I honestly don't think I see much at all, I just feel it. Like, I can feel visualizing my tulpa, but then I realize that I haven't actually been really picturing what he looks like. This makes it really hard to get into, and very frustrating.

Also, I find that I don't have much control over my mind...

When I picture things, it doesn't usually matter what, my mind distorts them. I find it hard to keep them still. For instance, if I picture a sword, it always bends. Same with a guitar, usually. With my tulpa, my mind makes him kinda spread his legs a little (as if trying to do a split), while still at the same height that he was before. There seems to be nothing I can do about it. My mind will distort a room, or anything in it without my consent. This also makes it hard to focus, among other things. It's been like this for as long as I remember. And I also feel bad, because it's basically puppeting my tulpa.

Do you have any idea what I mean by this? Have you ever heard of this before, or have any ideas to help?

Thank you.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

When first learning to visualize, many, myself included, make the mistake of trying to force the image into place and concentrating too actively. I would strongly recommend reading Chupi's guide, as it helped me greatly when I was in a similar position. You might also try visualizing a real place that you are completely familiar with. Just imagine yourself walking through it, even if you can't entirely see everything around you. I found that to be great practice and still use it from time to time when I have difficulty focusing.

On my phone right now, but try this.

Hold a simple object in your hand. A phone, a toothbrush, something. Hold it at eye level.

Close your eyes and visualize your hands holding the object. You can feel it with your real hands and prove to your mind's eye that it isn't moving. See if you can hold it still.

Charles: I've already read Chupi's guide, but it may benefit me to read it over again.

Visualizing a place I'm familiar with sounds like it could help. I think I'll give that a shot.

TulpaCouple: That's actually a very good idea, I will try that out, thank you :)

And again, as to my first question; during a visualization session, is what you're supposed to do as simple as just visualizing your tulpa over and over again, every day, until you are able to see it as vividly as if it were right in front of you?

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

Yes, just keep visualizing until you can see your tulpa more and more vividly. Add sense of touch, smell, etc. to it as well to strengthen the vividness of the visualization. See your tulpa from different angles, making different expressions, etc. Eventually this will help with imposing.

I was under the impression that smell, touch, and such came after visualization. But doing them all together DOES sound like it would speed the process up. I'll give that a try, too.

One thing that I did was visualize my tulpa talking, doing random things that I would expect him to do, based on his personality, and such. I thought it was useful, to see him from not only many angles, but doing specific things. I stopped that though, because I figured that it was like puppeting... Is it not? Because if that's fine, then I will definitely continue. I had much more productive feeling sessions when I did that.

Small amounts of puppeting seems to be fine in cases like this. Always ask first and tell the tulpa what you are going to do of course. A lot of people will make a treadmill to visualize their tulpa walking and then running for instance. As long as you are aware of your puppeting and don't suddenly start having doubting freakouts, it's fine.

Seeing as there's a thread close enough in subject i figure why start another thread.

When visualising, in what way do you look at it? What i mean by that is, is it something you've got lodged in your mind that you just sort of picture and focus on or is it more of a seeing with your eyes type thing despite it being in your imagination (with you still focusing of course, not as in trying to impose it upon your reality).

I'm not even sure if i'm making any sense, this is a weird thing to put into words.

Assuming I'm understanding correctly, it can be either. I find seeing with my eyes, that is to say from a first-person perspective and moving around as if I were actually controlling my body, is far more effective. This is the method you would use when doing a wonderland approach. The alternative would work just fine if you only want to see your tulpa, but may be harder as you lack that sense of being there with them. I reach a much deeper state of concentration and can view Linda more clearly when "seeing with my eyes". Hope that helped.

Don't worry Bro, it's hard for everyone in the beginning, it gets easier the more you do it. I visualize and have Shin sitting in a chair facing me, reading a magazine, sleeping, flying, or sometimes we go out and kill shit. But that's once you have his/her form perfect.

My opinions are all subject to change.
