If your lucid dreaming can your tulpa grab your butt in your dream? In a sexual way without you wanting them to? :O  :exclamation:

Well let's.. make this about how "your tulpa" your tulpa actually is in a dream. In normal dreams, dream characters can have the "feeling" that they're you're tulpa, even if they look totally different. Generally, this would be considered not really your tulpa, but maybe influenced by them. They could also simply appear as themselves - but they may act differently or do weird things... just like YOU might in a dream! It's most agreeable to consider a tulpa of yours you see in a dream as also being dreaming, with all of the spontaneity and disinhibitions anyone may experience while dreaming.

That said, a non-lucid tulpa in a non-lucid dream can very easily change into someone or something else just as all dream characters can. In a lucid dream, where you know you are dreaming (not just a vivid dream, one that feels real/very clear), keeping them in focus can keep them from changing. But they may or may not be lucid themselves! It's really hit or miss, it seems, if a tulpa realizes they're in a dream or not. In a lucid dream, you should be able to make your tulpa lucid by explaining to them that you're both in a dream (and that they're dreaming, too).

That's assuming you can find your tulpa in a lucid dream, though. It can be difficult to actually summon your tulpa in a lucid dream if you're not proficient at controlling and directing lucid dreams (or not, if you're lucky). All I can say there is to try expecting to see your tulpa just out of sight, knowing that they'll be around the next corner, et cetera. Otherwise, you may not be able to purposely summon your tulpa as a novice lucid dreamer.

And to answer your specific question... A non-lucid tulpa may or may not even be themselves, and even if they seem to be they could also be dreaming and relatively unpredictable. A lucid tulpa should mostly only do what your tulpa would want to do in the first place. So, it depends on if your tulpa is like that?

Hi guys, plain text is just me now! We've each got our own accounts: me, Tewi, Flandre, and Lucilyn. We're Luminesce's tulpas.

Here's our "Ask Thread", and here's our Progress Report (You should be able to see all of our accounts on the second page if you want)

In my experience, they're always themselves, and we've done a lot more than that. In the dream construct, even in the lucid dream construct, we don't seem to experience inhibitions. Thus anything can and have happened. I can see where others have experienced it differently as Tewi said, but I'm still waiting to experience that sort of thing.

They've proven themselves to actually be in my dream and I've also been in their dreams, and they also have their own dreams. In any given dream, If I see one, it turns lucid; similarly if I'm lucid, I can call one in without fail in a dozen recent attempts.

(I may have bunny ears too but I'm not Tewi!)

But yes, we do have quite a large collection of people's experiences, with which we can assure you often times people's tulpas aren't quite themselves. Even in lucid dreams there have been times someone's tulpa wasn't acting like themself - hence the concept of considering them "also dreaming/needing to be made lucid".

Also a side note, lucid dreaming isn't meta and this thread could actually be in General Discussion.

You'll forgive a bear, we have generally poor perceptions.

I remember someone talking about Tewi in a game acting as the boss level, that's my favorite. I wasn't denying that tulpas are in dreams not as themselves, but we haven't experienced that recently.

In a lucid dream, you should be able to make your tulpa lucid by explaining to them that you're both in a dream (and that they're dreaming, too).

ahh thanks, that may help me to solve something.

This morning I fell into a lucid dream while working on my tulpa but then could not figure out if my tulpa in the dream was just a dream character of my tulpa or my actual tulpa? (though I think it may of been my tulpa as I was feeling his presence right next to my physical body before I started to lucid dream).  I know from past LD experience (I've got quite a bit of LD experience) that my dream characters if I tell them they are in a dream, they never believe me, so maybe my tulpa would respond differently if it is really him.  I need to try that if it happens again.

(it's strange that lucid dreaming is in the metaphysical section when there is nothing metaphysical about it, it is just a category of dreaming which is keeping awareness during a sleep state).
