Glaurung26 December 3, 2024 Author December 3, 2024 We were messing around with online quizzes and got to religions. I don't take them too seriously but it's a fun thought experiment and can provide some insight. It's also lowkey personality forcing/learning for tuppers. Also as companions it's good for our relationship to see each other's values and acknowledge them. ย I got Religion Resister from the Pew Research one. That...that pans lol. I have a deep seated distrust of religious institutions and human organizations and economic, influence and power structures in general. I might be low-key anarchist or communalist? Not communist because I don't trust the government and not libertarian because I don't trust businesses. Moral humanism is my core foundation. But I also have respect for nature so if Iย didย have to pick something, I think Druidism or some other non-sacrificial naturalist religion or spiritual creed would fit well. ย Jaina's was a bit more interesting and harder to pin down. We might still take some more for her. She didn't really like the Pew Research one, I think it might be too American demographic leaning or biased and restrictive. I think she short-circuited the results by giving some answers that are contradictory on the surface but makes sense when you understand Jaina. She's more religious and faith oriented than me so it kept giving her Sunday worshipper or God and Country. They didn't really make any sense to me. We don't either of us believe in the Abrahamic God but Jaina believes in a higher power and is very community focused. She likes churches and religions on the community level and has respect for the ties that bond people together through them. If I'm being honest, I do too, but not the religious dogma. She's almost Protestant leaning but much more spiritual, anarchic and more of a representative God that isn't tied to the Bible.ย ย One interesting result she got was Hinduism. Reading through the description of the answer the mechanics of the belief system vibe well with her beliefs. High spirituality, connection to all things in the universe, reincarnation, enlightenment, peace, balance and harmony. I actually vibe with it too a bit. Just not on the specifics of dogma or the pantheon of Hinduism.ย ย I think we're just a family of religious tourists lol. We like the framework but disagree with specifics and dogma. My dad is kind of a New Age Buddhist type. Not firmly all in but heavily influenced on it. I think my mom and Jaina are actually quite close on religious values. She's from a practicing Sunday worshipper family and believes in Heaven, God, etc. but isn't tied to attending church or reading the Bible. Just walking the walk as it were and trying to be good to people without making a big deal of it. Now that I lay it out and examine it, it makes a bit more sense where Jaina is coming from on her faith perspective.ย ย Jaina and I are both heavily community focused and mistrustful of larger institutions. She's just more spiritual and faith focused and I'm more scientific and philosophical.ย Darron: Host ๐ย Jaina: Tulpa ๐ย (Raccoon Queen ๐ฆ๐ธ) ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆDainย andย Nova Aggrok: Tulpa Void Dragon Viktor: ๐บ [DeviantArt]
TB December 3, 2024 December 3, 2024 you say not communist but maybe you would like anarcho communism. they believe there should be no power structures, so there is no government at all. there is also no rich business men to steal everyone's labor value as profit. it wants to get rid of all oppression and have economic system based on mutual benefit instead of greed and profit. so the government and the businesses you don't trust, neither would exist, and the goal is to benefit the whole of society instead of just the people at the top. that's my understanding anyway, the idea is kind of new to me, bre surely knows more about it ย there are other forms of communism or socialism, like syndicalism, where work places are structured democratically, instead of authoritarianily like they are today, with CEO as the dictator (i think that is syndicalism anyway, it might be a different one) ย religion is interesting. i'm kind of like you and distrust religious institutions, but i am interested in finding out if there is a greater truth behind basic materialist appearance of things ย the quizes sound fun, maybe we should try. thanks for sharing Creation for creation's sake. ย we draw things ย Resident Dojikko

I'd heard of it before but I'm not super educated on it. I'm a fan of bottom structured rather than top heavy institutions. Hard to manage by committee but you could just have specialized individual departments running utilities instead of one major overarching government.ย Darron: Host ๐ย Jaina: Tulpa ๐ย (Raccoon Queen ๐ฆ๐ธ) ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆDainย andย Nova Aggrok: Tulpa Void Dragon Viktor: ๐บ [DeviantArt]
