Gambarimasu August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 Hello there Somewhere between narrations to my tulpa i had an idea. The idea consist in write a story about me and my tulpa, written in first person mode from my perspective and beginning where i met her and going forward from there, like some sort of journal, about me teaching things to her and going into common situations, no fancy stuff and no twisted plots. just us in an hypothetical but realistic world (maybe some awesome adventures from time to time too). The goal is to try and put some hypothetical events and see how she interacts with them, like some sort of personality stage(i was supposed to find a way non-personality but screw that, it isn't giving me results anyway) all of this in complement with the usual sessions and narrations(maybe the stories being a subject?) and also helping with visualizations and such. I understand deviation may take place so i accept to rewrite the story in that case, i think everything is covered now. So, what do you think? i know it's an additional effort to take on, but i think it may work.
QB2 August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 I say go for it. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
Bin August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 Yeah, that sounds like imaging your tulpa's reaction to certain situations, so it should be fine. But if it doesn't feel right remember to just drop it or else you'll get nowhere. no
Chupi September 3, 2012 September 3, 2012 This is a good idea, but be prepared to write a LOT of stories. :) Some novelists end up with partial tulpae called soulbonds, so this method is known to work already. It will likely also help if you bring her out IRL and talk to her sometimes when you write, or in between writing stories. Gambarimasu September 3, 2012 Author September 3, 2012 i know, i tried this the other day and the feels were epic, i never had pressures before when i tried, now i have. The thing is, i really suck at writting, like if i can't express what i want in paper and stuff like that but i can visualize the scene i want to write almost exactly so maybe that is what matters, right? PD: that soulbound concept is interesting, but what are the differences with the actual tulpae concept?
Amethyst September 3, 2012 September 3, 2012 PD: that soulbound concept is interesting, but what are the differences with the actual tulpae concept? It is a metaphysical variation of the concept. Chupi September 4, 2012 September 4, 2012 It is a metaphysical variation of the concept. No, it isn't. Just like with tulpae, some people view it as a metaphysical thing and others as psychological. They're basically the same, except I haven't heard of anyone imposing soulbonds. They're a personality, voice in head, and usually a visualized form, though often in less vivid detail than we aim for. Lyra: human female, ~17 Evan: boy, ~14, was an Eevee Anera: anime-style girl, ~12; Lyra made her My blog :: Time expectations are bad (forcing time targets are good though)
Gambarimasu September 4, 2012 Author September 4, 2012 yeah, when i read that page i thought of a tulpa, but feeling that this tulpa can't get out of the story where she/he is from, bounded only to the actions they would make inside their stories, lacking freedom to actually develop the self-awareness that is able to face experiences from outside the stories and actually learn from them, it's kind of sad. But this is only how i see it, i don't really know what exactly a soulbound is.
Amethyst September 4, 2012 September 4, 2012 No, it isn't. Just like with tulpae, some people view it as a metaphysical thing and others as psychological. And what I have read about soulbonds is solidly metaphysical (even the name implies it). Now trying a second time after increased school work cause failure last year. Ganathon September 4, 2012 September 4, 2012 It sounds like a GREAT idea. As long as you know the character in the book is based on your Tulpa, and not the other way around. Also don't take the book seriously, like it actually happened to your Tulpa, this could be some indirect puppeting or parroting. Realize it's almost a form of tulpaforcing showing their behavior, personality, and how (s)he in general reacts to situations. Best advice I can give. Luna Female Just gave up some hours at work. I need to have some relaxing time, and she needs the tulpaforcing.
