TurboSimmie May 10, 2021 May 10, 2021 These are the kinds of things I have to deal with here in this head. I think the truth of the matter is that Phil hasn't really given up; he's only pulled back to work on himself. At risk of embarrassing Phil I'll say this--I know what's in his heart and know he still cares. Things just weigh on him heavily. I'm doing my best to help out, but I guess I still don't fully understand why things are the way they are up here. Phil will be back in action someday, world! It's just a long road of building/rebuilding between here and there. Tulpa Wife & Mother!ย ๐ย ๐ย 11.28.21ย ๐ถย 4.7.23 ๐ย Simmie's AI Dress-Up!ย ย ๐ทย Chloe and Simmie's Photographic Adventures!
Glaurung26 May 10, 2021 Author May 10, 2021 (edited) Thank you all for the kind words! 2 hours ago, September13 said: Humans are my favorite thing in the entirety of the universe. I believe conquest is our birthright; conquest of nature, conquest of ourselves, and hopefully eventually conquest of the stars. I believe we have the right to shape the universe in whatever way we please, but of course we aren't free of the consequences. I do think it is important for us to be stewards of other forms of life on our world and any others we can find; but I'll always put humanity's needs before those of any rare tropical frog or hypothetical Martian sand worm. War is an inevitable and inseparable part of human nature. Even in that way we are not that different from other forms of life; there is always competition. We just have the ability to be more well organized, employ more intelligent strategies, and use technology as part of that competition.ย "Naturalists" do often put Nature on a pedestal as this wholesome, sacred entity to be worshipped but they conveniently omit its casual brutality. The old way: right by might. We didn't invent war, we just industrialized it. That of course doesn't mean we can't choose to be more enlightened than that. I prefer a more humane version of right by might: right by skill/competency or meritocracy. It's evangelized as much as the free market and can be naive on a practical level but doesn't mean meritocracy isn't worth striving for. I would prefer if we could preserve life forms for their intrinsic value but, humanity first, I suppose. I suppose it's something if we can protect nature by walling it in and calling it our garden like a wolf pack claims a plot of land. ย I'm glad it's okay to care. ๐ฅฒ Edited May 10, 2021 by Glaurung26 Darron: Host ๐ย Jaina: Tulpa ๐ย (Raccoon Queen ๐ฆ๐ธ) ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆDainย andย Nova Aggrok: Tulpa Void Dragon Viktor: ๐บ [DeviantArt]
