How do I do narration for more than 10 minutes without getting worn out?

Recommended Posts

I do narration every day, (tupper not vocal quite yet), but I always get worn out after about 10 minutes. Is there any way to stop this, or should I just try and do 6 10-min sessions throughout the day?

6 10-min sessions could work.

The more fun your narration is, the less it may wear you out, too.

Also just slowly pushing on your comfort zone as you gain the ability to tolerate more.

Creation for creation's sake.

6 to 10 minutes is a nice amount of time to focus on your tulpa. Just do it more often until you're reaching the total amount of time you're aiming for each day.

Are you doing it out loud or in your mindvoice? If you're doing it out loud, that might play a part in why it wears you out quicker.

Any amount is better than none! I was fortunate; my host has the ability to monologue for literal hours without any external input and it stays interesting the entire time. 😄🥰 But people who aren't used to talking to "no one" may find it difficult to keep up for even a few minutes. It's a skill you can slowly build up, and I would even say must build up if you intend to go from a "Me" to a "We".

Just remember that the goal isn't to speak just to speak, it's to be focusing on speaking to your tulpa, and intending for them to be listening and, if they can, responding. If you can barely go even 10 minutes then I'm sure you're doing that just fine - just noting that, if going for a literal hour, it would be very easy to forget to even be practicing tulpamancy at all. Just thinking or saying words doesn't do anything on its own, they're a conduit for interacting with or instilling the presence of your tulpa.

^ Pretty much what Simmie and Lumi said. I know for us, we have the ability to narrate for as long as we please because it can be done in conjunction with literally any other activity, which is why I don't understand why you'd have specific times for it. Narration is supposed to be constant, isn't it?

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of September, 2022, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, Trease, Rollin, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

I mean, if you go as far as to call it a "technique" and "tulpa development method", then I guess. Nothing wrong with just making comments to your tulpa as you go about your day though, as long as the intent for them to be listening and eventually responding is there. May see stronger benefits from doing it for longer periods of time, but it's not a rule or anything

Ah, I always understood it as something that was supposed to be constantly done until the tulpa is sufficiently vocal that you can instead hold back and forth conversations.
