Oguigi September 13, 2012 September 13, 2012 IRL i speak a certain way that's very different from my peers, abnormally formal let's say. so should I be surprised that Oguigi(my tulpa) is speaking in a similar way i do (picking up some of my speech habits)? also as another note; I hardly talk to people, am quite the shut-in. pix: Link Diary: http://ponystasha.tumblr.com Koomer.
Raetin September 13, 2012 September 13, 2012 Not sure if it's normal, but Reah (my tulpa) did the same thing. This led me to believe I was parroting sometimes, but I decided to believe it was her. After some time, she started to gain her own speech patterns. Hoped that help. I have 10 tulpas, but I'm only actively working on Reah, my first tulpa currently. Progress Report
QB2 September 13, 2012 September 13, 2012 They've got to get it from somewhere. Though some of that is just how they were "set up", the mind is very chameleonic, be it a human mind or a tulpa mind. It reacts to what it's seen, assimilates patterns, etc etc. So yeah that's normal. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
fennecfoxx September 13, 2012 September 13, 2012 People's speech patterns tend to be influenced by those they speak with most. I don't see why it would be unusual for a tulpa to speak in a similar way to their host, considering their host is the only one who talks to them, and especially since they borrow their consciousness from the host's subconscious. Of course, I'm not saying a tulpa is going to speak exactly like their host because of this. Things like books, television, and the internet - especially forums, where there tends to be a lot of informal conversation - could probably also influence your tulpa's speech, though I'd imagine a tulpa would still likely have a similar speech pattern to that of their host, due to the amount of conversation between them. Deluded myself into believing my imaginary friends were real, then deluded myself into thinking they weren’t. Frosty September 13, 2012 September 13, 2012 Ever wonder why people from the South all have that southern twang? Well if everyone around you speaks a certain way, especially if it's been that way since your birth, you'll eventually pick it up. All a tulpa knows at first is you and how you speak, so it seems very likely that they will talk like you especially in the beginning.
