Hey guys! I've recently discovered tulpae, and I want to make one. I read through some of the guides on here and looked through a lot topics, but I still have some questions I'm wondering about.

1.] So first.. I've read several topics on this, but still.. Is it a good idea to base a tulpa's look and some personality traits off an anime character? In the early guides, this is not recommended, however there are lots of gay : D pony tulpae around, and people seem to have no problems with them.

2.] Gender. LOL, I really don't know if I should make it a female or a male.. The original anime character is a male, but he acts more like a girl xD . From the topics I've read, I guess I can conclude that it doesn't REALLY matter since you can still "customize" the tulpa's traits, meaning you can make a girly boy or a boyish girl. But I still can't decide.. Maybe I should just let the tulpa decide?

3.] So I've read a few guides, and I think I am mostly gonna follow GGMethos' guide [http://pastebin.com/yenixUxK].. But there's one thing I'm not very clear on - when forcing personality, do you just narrate the traits your tulpa will have over and over again, or is this where you can just talk to them about anything as much as possible? Or, do you only start doing that in the Sentience stage?

Well, LOL, that's about it. I will get started on the personality chart thingy. Thanks in advance ;)

1. As long as you both fully understand that your tulpa is not the character, they just share some traits with them, it should be fine.

ex. Even if a character is named Dumbledore and looks like Dumbledore, as long as he understand he's himself and not necessarily related to that other Dumbledore, he'll be fine.

2. Whichever. Or none. Or both. Do whatever is the most comfortable, and remember you both have free choice on such matters.

3. Both, either, or something completely different. If you're stuck on a part of a guide, just come up with something else and try that.

The above post does not contain facts.

q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.

1. It's fine. I sort of think of it like a celebrity look-alike. As long as you know the tulpa is not the character and may be slightly different(especially considering he would not be in the same situations as the character, even with the same traits he would be different) it would be fine. Be sure to work on your tulpa's confidence early on to let them know who they are and give them some pride in it.

2. Gender can be whatever. My tulpa is genderless but seems mostly male, but he could easily change that if he wanted. My fiance's tulpa can actually shapeshift into male or female if he wanted to. If you want, have the tulpa start out somewhat androgynous and let them pick.

3. Personality can be done really any way you want. It could be straight up talking about it or even visualizing something symbolic of giving them the trait. I personally like to go into as much detail as possible--example situations, referring to memories of when I had seen that trait in others, how that trait makes me feel, how the trait interacts with another trait, etc. And the order doesn't matter so much.

Mind if I ask the character?

1) As I'm sure it's been said above me, it's fine to loosely base it on a character. Some people do base their tupla completely on a character from a show, and that's ok. The most important thing is for your tupla to understand that they are different from this character, and more important to you.

2)Androgynous non-sentient tupla is best tupla. If your having troubles deciding, let him/her/it decide once they become sentient.

3) Only narration or no narration, doesn't really matter. Just make sure you are focusing on your tupla and giving them the feeling of the trait. Really, do whatever works best.

1) It is fine as long as you don't try to create a backstory for them, give them memories from the show, etc.

2) If you are unsure you can let the tulpa decide when ready.

3) Personally I'm not doing much personality so I don't have much advice to give in that area. I'm letting it form through experience and all that jazz.

Whoa, that was some quick replies there.

2. Gender can be whatever. My tulpa is genderless but seems mostly male, but he could easily change that if he wanted. My fiance's tulpa can actually shapeshift into male or female if he wanted to. If you want, have the tulpa start out somewhat androgynous and let them pick.

I see, I will make mine genderless then - that's just what I feel most comfortable with :)

I'm sure we will I understand that it's not the character, so I'm going with a similar look :D

Mind if I ask the character?

Sure, it's Akito/Agito from Air Gear:
